@Decay384 Just because someone isn't outwardly practicing Islam to a particular level that you associate with as being a Muslim, doesn't prevent them from knowing that they are Muslim. There are many non practicing Muslims, if you didn't know. If he has publicly said he doesn't believe anymore, then you can take that as a fact of disbelief, but until then we only know of his public statement of belief

Commentary was lying about it being unusual for alex to be on the back foot when alex has some of his best moments on the back foot like his Strickland KO or when he dropped jiri in the rematch. Ank is a great fighter, he deserves 100% credit.

He did, maybe it got missed on the translation, but he gave props for Ank’s round 2. He also did mention that all the hugging against the fence for the purpose of getting the judges scores isn’t good, and motivates other fighters to replicated the same, the rest was translated well Take care! 😊

Perreira's fanbase trying to gaslight everyone into thinking Magomed clinched his way to a win. Let me set the record straight. Magomed clinched ONLY in the 4th round. All Alex did during the whole fight was backup, throw leg kicks and nearly get finished.

Poatan scored more points overall Poatan defended all the takedowns and even took down Ankalaev! The Judges messed up a lot today in several fights! For me, the unanimous decision for Ankalaev borders on schizophrenic madness and is just plain mean! These shitty judges must be on drugs! When I saw the previous fights, the judges doing shit, I already knew that if it was on points, Alex's fight would be a mess, and that's what happened. The talk of "you have to convince to win" only applies to Jon Jones! That talk only applies to Jones. Poatan scored more points overall. Poatan defended all the takedowns and even took down Ankalaev! The judges did a lot of shit today in several fights!

I love the Russian translator, he translates when Joe is speaking. It is always a flowing thing with him, he always does that ;) All other translators start to translate when Joe is finished speaking, it interrupts the flow and sometimes I think, they want to be also on the stage and try to take away a little bit of the thunder from the fighter ;)

La verdad ninguno de los dos peleó nada, xq para ir haber una pelea así, mejor no ir, estuvo aburrida, en otras peleas, Sele miraba las ganas a Alex Pereira pero está vez a como muchos dicen se le miraba el rostro de miedo y es la verdad, en cuanto a ankalaev tuvo otras peleas en dónde se miraba mucho mejor que ayer, ayer no demostró nada, igual Pereira, que parecía que andaba en una bicicleta. AYer los dos quedaron debiendo, en muchos casos quedó como aburrida esa pelea, tanto millones como para ver eso, estuvieron mejor las peleas anteriores. Ojalá que no llegue un día en qué la UFC se ponga aburrido como el boxeo, belator lo veo aun mejor a mi parecer.

He held him, it was boring, but Alex has to stop it. Also, he didn't just hold him, he outstruck him. He seemed salty to me. But still a huge fan of his ofc

Alex was not ducking him, and he was not destroyed or humiliated in this match. He was off, he was slow and sluggish, but Ank was not stellar either. You make it sound as if Alex was ragdolled the whole fight like Belal did Edwards, he was not. It was a close competitive fight.

Poatan will be fine. This reminds me of the first Juliana Peña versus Amanda Nunez fight. Amanda was dominant for a while, and then had a loss. She bounced back brilliantly. At the end of the day, regardless of what people wanna say, it was an extremely close fight. Ankalaev received his points because he ultimately held Alex up against a fence for over five minutes in a 25 minute fight. Pereira will make his adjustments and come back better than ever. CHAMA 🗿

Alex game plan: beat the leg on 1-3, defend takedowns, capitalize after and put him down. Ank game plan: beat Alex on the feet while he is worried about takedowns and focusing on leg kicks, don't let him capitalize on the damage he will do to the legs by taking him down/or hugging him against the fence on the later rounds. He had enough takedown threat, enough striking skills, enough cardio, enough hugging skills, and he did it, credits to Ank. And just to clarify Alex didn't say Ank did nothing through the whole fight, he said he didn't do anything when holding him against the fence only.

@@cmon9505 I’m not sure you understand how scoring works. Yes, 13 takedown attempts counts more than one takedown after the bell. Even if you took all the striking away, the right guy still won. You don’t win by only defending, even if your defense is 100%.

I think Alex was more worried about the takedown than anything, that's why he was moving backwards the whole night. I mean he stopped 12 of 12 takedowns so there's nothing to be ashamed of. It was a close fight, he didn't get dominated and honestly I wouldn't have been surprised if he walked away with the belt that night

As a Brazilian native I can fully say the translator didn’t accurately reflect Pereira’s resentment for Ankalaev’s fighting style. The translator makes it sound like Pereira was okay with being pinned up against the wall, but Pereira expresses clear disgust with the style which Pereira labels unexciting and almost disrespectful to the sport. The translator attempts to brush this over and really butters Pereira’s words up potentially to make it more politically correct and show a degree of respect for his opponent.
