The magnitude of what he just accomplished is insane. Fourth fight in the UFC and he takes out a guy that was being hailed as one of the greatest middleweights ever who cleaned out the division and beats him for a third time now. And to think that he was on the cusp of losing a decision and almost finished at the end of the first round, this played out like a movie.

He had Israel's number from day one, although I think Adesanya forgot to train for men his size, had a good run of smaller framed men and adapted a style to beat them. Why be elusive and on the back foot against a taller guy? He can reach you with his arms just like you can reach him, weird.

@@z4bando421 If it happens and he he grabs that belt from Jiri, it would be a serious movie material. It'd be a Henry Cejudo level accomplishment, no Olympic gold, but a lot of Kickboxing gold + way smoother transition to being an MMA champ and double champ. I truly believe he's as strong as Jiri, has a proper frame and waaaay better, more disciplined striking to get the LHW title. He could also fight with Błachowicz. Training his takedown/wrestling defense with Glover + being a better striker than Jan is valid.

@@z4bando421 I think if Alex defends against Izzy again and if jiri beats glover again that rather then feed what at that point will be a Huge hypetrain perfectly curated by the ufc to the wolves against dominant wrestler like Whittaker or Chimaev they will actually let him move up to challenge jiri because that is a FAR more favorable matchup for Alex imo then Whittaker would be not that Alex doesn’t have the ability to shut Whittaker or Chimaev or anyones lights out plus that storyline would be a LOT bigger for the ufc to capitalize on after a huge adesanya rematch and the whole revenge plot for poatan who is already a giant mw.

Can’t think of a better person to coach this dude than Glover Teixeira. Everyone knows Alex’s weakness is grappling & wrestling. If he just improves his takedown defense and ability to get up when he does get taken down then it’s hard to see anyone beating him.

this is a champion we are all waiting for, not a charismatic fighter just to entertain everyone at the press conference and will give us a boring fight, playing it safe.. but this guy doesnt talk much and just letting his skills do the talking.. always on character and having a fearless mindset. calm and effecient. hes never been out of a fight, other fighters would panic if they got rocked, ground and pound and if the only round left is one round for them to win. but this guy knows exactly what he is doing aware if he is losing or winning, and still believes he can end the fight.

crazy how his face looks compared to Izzy's after the fight! Crazy endurance, because he sustained his energy regardless of the draining grappling and defending on the ground. To not be so skilled on the ground and have remained at his energy level is insane. The rematch will be interesting!!

I think this is just such a disgrace. This is the new middleweight champion of the UFC, and they can't get a competent translator? I am sure translating is difficult, but if it is your job, especially at this stage, you need to do better. There are clearly things that he says that are not translated/conveyed by this translator, and we are missing out on his thoughts on very important questions. It is just not acceptable for a champion to not have his full thoughts articulated to us. I think this is the same guy who was translating during the fight during inter-round corner talks: he did not fully translate what was said during those times and it takes away from the experience. I understand this may be a difficult job, but can we get the best of the best for this so the fans can hear everything that is said?
