Volk is one of the smartest fighters of all time, always a sight to behold. He knew he was going to face a younger opponent with a heavy right hand, similar to Topuria, and stopped walking towards his opponent power side.

@Dru517 yea he had a good shot. Like din Thomas said he needed to just go. I get it, its a 5 round fight you wanna conserve energy and your fighting volk but his whole run through the ufc he was very aggressive getting finishes and even finding success on the ground. But in the biggest fight he completely changes his approach from aggressive to more tactical, tit for tat which i think costed him. Overall still a great fight tho! Lopes is still one of my favorite fighters in the ufc

@@Dru517 No he didn't lmao he's a likable fighter but don't lie about it. He landed 2 big shots and got his head boxed off for the rest of the fight. Volk landed more than twice the amount of strikes Lopez landed. Diego is a good fighter and has a bright future but this fight was all Volk.

You’re telling me he beat a better version of TKZ? Is Ortega & Yair better than Mendes & Edgar? Definitely not. Aldo also held the title far longer. WEC & UFC combined he has 6 years as champion with 9 defenses. Volk has 4 years as champion with 5 defenses. In longevity & Quantity & Quality Aldo has him beat. His title reign and resume is better than Volk’s. It’s all just recency biased.

@@ihavecrappyvidsit means when the going get tough those are the times that shape and build you. It’s ok to fail as long as you learn and pick yourself up and do better. I was told once I’m life is a roller coaster. If everything in life was always good n great and you have never experienced hardship then you wouldn’t appreciate the times when they are good. Bad times lets us experience how good good times are! That’s what makes them good. Accomplishments. When you can look back on things n say wow life has been a journey of up and downs. You appreciate it more!
