Aljo vs. Volk would be really unfaire towards the rest of the Bantamweight devision. The devision is so stacked and Aljo only defended the title once. He should stay in his lane for a bit before going for a second belt.

People are forgetting the only reason Aljo wants this is because he’s practically best friends with Merab, who is rising up and has no intentions of fighting Aljo. But with Volk talking about moving up, the whole thing is kind of a sh1t show.

@@ajdwyer1600 yea he is dude literally the backup but at the same time I think he knows how stacked the LW division is with Dustin , Justin , Michael chandler, oliveria , Islam , dariush etc one of the most stacked divisions. You seen the difference in power between Dustin porier vs max the pop Nd power behind those punches was so obvious. Max and volky cut massive weight so they could’ve been easily fighting in 155 but 145 gives them more advantage especially volky fit his size. I can see max going up a division for his frame and naturally he is around 180. But volky even tho use to weight around 214 in his rugby days and rn walks around 190 but cuts to 145 like max I can’t see him in 155 dominating those guys like he does in 145. Those few pounds difference Nd especially on fight nights when they rehydrate guys get 10-20% of their weight back .

Damn did I miss something? I never knew Aljo was even considering challenging Volk at 145. I want to see how he does against TJ Dillashaw before I really consider how he'd do against Volk but I doubt he'd be successful in any meaningful way. With that said I think I could see Aljo being even better at 145 considering he walks around way heavier anyway.

I like Sterling but that would be the EASIEST title defence for Volk of all time. "He hasn't fought a grappler" Chad Mendez enters the room. Sterling doesn't have the BJJ that Ortega has or the cardio or striking that Max has.

I'd be interested in aljo going up but he needs to defend the belt a few times first because his own division is very stacked and he's only defended 1x. I typically only like to see people go for champ champ when they are defending a lot in their own division and competition starts to lack.

I thought the 2nd fight was more than enough to say Volk was champ.. the 3rd was for max. .and basically to try to re-gain some faith, but drastically backfired and he was basically slaughtered (unfortunately, fortunately).. it really showed how much further Volk has improved and deserved the shot at the next weight dIvision, I wasn't expecting the champ straight up, but he got that and we will see where it goes.. c'mon volk, Makhachev is just another pillar for greatness to walk upon! get it done mate! you're putting in the hard yards, We are hoping they shine come Feb 12! let's get it done Volk!

Sterling talking like volk has something to prove to him 😂 volks in the heavier division, is higher in the pound for pound list and has been far more dominant in his performances… sterling had an impressive gameplan vs yan, but yan is still considered by many as the divisions top fighter even if he lost their last matchup.. this delusion is the exact reason people aren’t down with him, he’s gotta prove himself more if he’s going to get the recognition for talking the way he does.. as long as volk doesn’t get his back taken being foolish, he’d mess sterling up on the feet, plus he’s just too strong in general
