Yeah Arnold isn't the most active, he wants to fight once a year. When asked about a follow up fight after Hooker, you could see he felt under pressure to act like he wanted to stay active and fight quicker than he actually wanted to

Yeah, that’s actually a good comparison. I think people forget as Poirier has been at the top now and facing nothing but basically top lvl, champion and elite ex champs in his past 10 fights(only like 2 were non champ or former champ guys in past 10 fights) how good his bjj actually was coming up as well. I guess getting strangled in your 2 championship shots tends to make people forget your bjj as well but Dustin coming up and just the style and way they fight is actually very similar to Allen actually.

One of the most precise is a stretch. Maybe if you only count the punches that wobble his opponents. Dude seems to always find himself in chaotic flurries and misses half of the wild combos

His tempo control and head movement is actually pretty damn solid. I could see him having some trouble with moving up a level to vs contenders if he rushes it but he's a great talent and i'm excited to see more of him.

@@canuck2444 exactly. Saying he wasn’t deserving. But light heavy weight is dead in todays age. Possible why all the doubt never even really came to light. Ended up being fight of the year. Jamal hill making rounds as well though. Also I fw the idea to fight glover again to make a statement. Improves. Notices a bad performance when nobody else really even does. He came in ufc late on his own terms. Dudes a war genius and only really starting every time. I’d put stock wisely.

@@randyk_18 That’s the thing tho. He’s the jack of all trades but a master of none. Those fighters you’ve mentioned, if they’re better than him in one category, Allen will be better at everything else simply due to how well-rounded he is. Unless it’s Volkanovski, Holloway or Ortega. Those are the real challenges and big boys if Featherweight coming up if Allen beats Katter. Obviously Emmett and Yair are dangerous too but not in the level as the other three I mentioned prior.

I feel like one of the main reasons the UFC hasnt really promoted him is because it seems like the majority of his fights go the distance instead of a finish. If he has more knockouts they would hype him up, and that's not fair. Hes very intelligent and determined, one of the best in his weight class right now. We see you Arnold! 2023 will be his year!

With zero knockout power. He'll get clapped in the top 10 in a heartbeat. Fighting an out of his prime Dan Hooker doesn't mean much. Most of his fights are going to the judges. That wont be enough for him when fighting good competition. He was throwing everything in those clips and only got 1 ko.

@@doylebear have you even watched his fights? His power in the Yusuff fight was scary. Felt like he could've ended it at any point but seemed to just coast to a points victory. He had Yusuff ready to go twice but was happy to not rush. Then you see what he did to Dan Hooker. Had Dan in so much trouble he was in too much pain to fire anything back. His jab in the kattar fight would've caused massive problem had the fight gone longer. A proper nose-breaker left jab

He slowed down badly in the Sodiq fight. If Emmett isn’t putting Kattar away, I don’t see Allen doing it. Arnold is going to need some massive improvements in cardio to win this, very promising prospect regardless excited for this fight

It's sad watching Dan Hooker taking so many L's in other fighter's showreels. I really hoped he'd be a success in the UFC but seems he just never realised his potential. Got hit so many times and never recovered the will to win anymore.

I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Allen yet, he seems to to step up to the plate anytime he faces a tough opponent so I expect him to really shine against Kattar, although it won’t be an easy fight! I see it being a 5 round war!

I met Arnold Allen wen I was at work this year, before the Dan H fight I just want to say he is a nice lad very humble. I met a few sports personalities from the area n all have had their heads up their own ass
