As an Australian, huge fan of the way the UFC and Nrl have been integrating lately. Imagine my surprise being a huge Alex 🗿 fan and seeing him with my favourite NRL team the Melbourne Storm. Hell I'm a huge Bobby knuckles fan and seeing the Panthers do wrestling practice ;) at his gym, really makes me happy. I do MMA. I compete and I also used to play rugby league all throughout highschool. It sounds dumb but honestly the wrestling out of tackles in rugby, really help me with basic takedown defence when I first started MMA. It's hard to shoot a double leg on me if you're the same size because I'm used to grappling the Samoans over a rugby ball 😂😂

It's a very, very smart thing to do for NRL to partner with the UFC using the momentum that VOLK AND IZZY have created in the sport, Very smart thing to do and whoever was in charge of this PR move back home really needs a pay rise because this could be the push that the NRL need too excel INTERNATIONALLY not just on a NZ TO THE ISLANDS scale but more broad and global. This could've been something done a very long time ago but the Aussies that we're famous and had pull like; HUGH JACKMAN, KYLE MINOGUE etc... never really represented NRL or AFL out in the spotlight when they we're in it but now you have a CHAMPION like VOLK who has publicly said " I USE TO PLAY RUGBY LEAGUE " Really get's people intrigued in what he use to do before UFC and well.. Here it is. It is a very smart PR move on NRL 's behalf, Next thing to do is to bring back Major sponors like; NIKE, PUMA, ADIDAS, UNDER AMOUR time to get them on board.

@Travvv94 Rugby means Rugby union. Union is the rich kid sport in Australia. Rugby league is what all the public school kids play. I would get slapped by my father for confusing the two sports and saying I played rugby instead of rugby league or just league. Not your fault for not knowing but a lot of us Aussie boys would cop it from our fathers for saying Rugby. That's why we pull others up on it. It's just how we were raised. All of my friends and their fathers are the same when it comes to this topic
