I’m very confused about his criteria for the list, it seemed like it was based on who were the most accomplished American wrestlers that competed in UFC but then he put Brock ahead of DC. There are ton of Americans that had the most affective wrestling in UFC that he didn’t put on his list. Ben Askren, Jon Jones, Chael, Mat Hughes, Tito Ortiz, Chris Weidman just to name a few. All these guys were much more affective with their wrestling then Brock or Sara Mccman.

Bo is way too smart and accomplished as an collegiate wrestler to have this be his ACTUAL TOP 5. The criteria needs to explained more in detail. We talking feats in wrestling before or just UFC only? Decorated within the UFC like championships/defenses as a wrestler? Wrestling stats like TD accuracy and defense? Feels like this is a directed marketing thing for the fight on Saturday and the UFC team told him to stick within certain parameters or just have fun with it I guess lol. Which is odd since he put Mark Schultz. Brock ahead of DC is a troll lol. No Cain Velasquez, Dan Henderson, Randy Couture, Dan Severn, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman, Johny Hendricks, list goes on and on.

Brock Lesnar was a monster. He won NCAA National Championship in 2000 and got silver in 99 he could of made team USA but he decided to go to wwe which was the right choice.

@@savagelouie4498 No doubt he was a beast, but he was nowhere near Olympian level like some his contempararies at the time like a Kurt Angle, or Cael Sanderson. I know those guys are a couple of years on either side of his 2000 win (and not in mma), but INTERNATIONAL competition is a different animal (also the adjustment to Freestyle/Greco vs Folkstyle). By pure accolades and accomplishments, guys like DC and other MMA olympians are head and shoulders over Brock.

⁠⁠@@elreydominguezif you dumb it down all international wrestling (freestyle wrestling) is to see who is the better tactician, who can score more exciting points than the other person. Folkstyle wrestling which is the style only used in American high schools Aand colleges puts an emphasis on top-bottom mat wrestling, basically who can control the other person better. Folkstyle is generally harder in my opinion just because it requires someone to be decent in all three positions neutral, top, and bottom. If you’re not good in neutral how are you going to take someone down, if you’re not good on top you won’t be able to expose peoples’ backs to the mat for points, and if you can’t get out on bottom when someone is on top of you then it’s going to be tough to win. There’s less luck in Folkstyle wrestling because people wrestle more rigid to protect a lead or not be scored on. You do have outliers who wrestler more open. Freestyle wrestling requires skill in taking someone down with little emphasis on top-bottom wrestling. People can get “lucky”scoring points in freestyle because points can be accumulated quicker and the scoring system is a little different compared to folkstyle wrestling. In America there’s generally at least one guy from each college at the D1, D2, D3, or even NAIA level that was not the best folkstyle wrestler find success in freestyle wrestling just because freestyle has less competition to perfect one’s craft compared to folkstyle. In an MMA realm both styles have their advantages like a freestyle wrestler can find success in MMA through throws because elaborate “back arching throws” are legal in freestyle and aren’t in folkstyle because no American parent introducing their child to wrestling wants to see their kid break their neck from a back arching throw, so folkstyle has modified rules compared to freestyle to prevent riskier moves like that from occurring. That’s flawed because other countries who compete in wrestling compete in freestyle wrestling from an age where kids can walk and back arching throws are not an issue but in America it is just because. Overall I think folkstyle wrestling is better for MMA because you can show total domination on your opponent on the in the top position.

DC should be #2 then Chael #3 for American wrestling talent as used in mma. If we wanna be pc we put Sarah #5 but it should really be Cain #5 (yes I love AKA and if wrestling in mma in the WORLD its obviously Khabib #1, Islam #2, then Cejudo #3, then DC #4 then Usman or GSP #5 . Just sayin)

Cejudo is just NOT nearly as big a threat in mma wrestling than Khabib or Islam are to literally any opponent they could ever face

I get Bo is accredited but this list .. I can see it only if he judged from pure wrestling standpoint and what they did in college & Olympics . At that point though, you CANT forget Askren but Kamaru , Cain , DC , Cejudo & Jones round the list out at wrestling Americans IN mma .
