Gotta be honest. Even after 1 week in the gym, anyone's striking would've been better. That was worlds worse than cm punk in terms of utilizing all aspects of mixed martial arts.

@@samblack5313 not necessarily. Jourdain was keeping his hands close to his body, posturing down and head on the chest. There is really nothing you can do when someone's stalling like that doesn't matter how good the bjj is. That was the right approach against a high level black belt. Kron needs to add layers to his game. Impossible to get it to work if only threat is closed guard

I think the problem with Gracie's is that they aren't that talented in striking to begin with. Second they focus a lot on making money with BJJ and because of that, can't be fully be well rounded MMA guys. Third, they think BJJ is the best sport in the world and will keep that mindset. BJJ is awesome but you need more than that these days.

Your the one who has obviously never competed in anything in your life, cause when I played sports we always shook hands after the match no matter win or lose. My friend trained at Kron Gracies jiu jitsu academy. He said he left because Kron was an asshole. Hes part of the biggest martial arts family on the planet and has very high level jiu jitsu. He owns his own gym so he gets to mess with others every day who cant defend themselves. Perhaps all that went to his head.

Kron left the cage walking, talking and breathing. He lost under the specific UFC rules. However Gracie Jiu Jitsu is still valid and useful in a street fight scenario.

You can still win with no striking skill in the UFC, but you better have elite level wrestling or judo takedowns & always be looking to reverse on the ground to get on top. Just pulling guard & laying on your back without looking for any reversals wouldn’t win any fights in Bellator or PFL
