he's deadly on the feet but unfortunately his lack of head movement gets him hit a lot, and when you have people like Islam who aren't afraid to go to the ground with him after he gets dropped, you see what happens... Hopefully he'll do better in the rematch but it's a tough challenge

The media just kept telling you Beniel was this or that. My confidence never wavered in Charles one bit. People forget that like 2 fights ago, no one thought much of Beniel. These hype train bandwagon fans and media machine are something else. Thanks to them for the +135! There was no way he was going to come out and beat one of the LW GOATs. As I said in my comments prior to the fight, EZ money.

He went from being almost blind to having a legit fresh pair of eyes shortly before the islam fight, I think a lot of people forget this. Charles showing good head movement and using new combos is a good sign for the rematch

Personally i dunno why 90% of people in MMA chose Beneil to win, Charles has better names on his record, is better in both striking and grappling, has more matches while being younger, taller and more ripped, Beneil's chin was sus since he got put to sleep very very baldy twice in his career, while Charles never went to sleep. I think people give WAY to much into the mental side of things, since Charles lost previously and Beneil was on a very good streak, however the mental side was not enough to overwrite how good Charles is in comparison to Beneil, like god damn everywhere, better in both physical attributes and skill.

@@akin9868 the communication ability is far more important than a belt as far as money making and fandom in the UFC. Gilbert, Khabib, Islam, Moicano, etc. all became far more known and popular once they learned English. Charles can’t express his personality, sense of humor or true picture of himself outside of fans who speak Portuguese. When everything comes through a translator, context and inflection is lost. Everyone was able to get a true understanding of the person Gilbert Burns is once he could speak English.
