Man, I feel bad for this guy. He's super likable with that infectious laughter and his positive calm attitude. Also, NO EXCUSES at all. He's aware of his problems but he's still young and talented. He's a great striker but needs a lot of work in the ground game. He's got time to work on his problems. He'll make a good comeback I'm sure.

French questions at the end: Q: It was only few minutes ago but do you understand what really happened ? That it was over so quickly, for sure you did not see that coming? A: That’s obviously not what I had expected thus why I am so pissed at myself. I would never have imagined losing in that fashion. Very disappointed, very angry at myself. We will take our time to think about it all and to understand what went wrong. In the heat of the moment, I’d say that was me. I don’t have the feeling that I had the wrong mindset. I really had the impression to be focused thus why I was surprised and stayed sit in my corner while wondering “Shit, he has a good ground game, we made good things but how did he catch me?”. This was my feeling. Now it’s over, have to go back to the gym. Q: You said after Ngannou’s fight that you had made mistakes that you would not make again. Do you now have the impression that it happened so fast… (Cyril interrupts) A: That’s not exactly the same situation. Against Francis we lost by decision. He took his chances and used his strength. Here I don’t really remember which move there was but I know it went wrong when he caught my side and took me down. He took his chance. He tried to grab my back but I defended it and faced him then I made mistakes with his guillotine. So, it’s different but again those are mistakes. Q: You’re known to be optimistic and see the positive side of life but how can you get back on your feet after this loss. It’s going to the gym straight away and work? A: Yes, going to the gym. Not to forget but first and foremost accept it and move forward. It belongs to the past now; you cannot change the past. That’s by moving forward that we will be able to change the future. We will work. Q: Do you think you might have another shot for the title? What should you do to have another one? A: For the moment, I have no clue. I am not even thinking about it. I’m thinking about training now.

I don't get why some fighters don't have sense to always defend their heads and necks after they're being attacked, no matter how experienced they are. We can see that Jones clearly was targeting for his head/neck submission, Gane barely got away a bit, i thought he was gonna defend even more properly and let Jones attack and gas out but moments later Gane got choked, it's like he had never been in that position at all during training. Such fighters should invest more on defense than offense during prep

@@NoOneIsYou879 are u serious?? U saying Blaydes does not deserve a title shot ? He has dominated all his opponents except for being ko by nuclear bombs of Derek and Francis. He has improved his striking by a good margin and is 100 times better grappler than gane. If gane deserves title shot twice , why not Blaydes. And as far as Aspinall is concerned, indeed now he does not but realistically he has more chance of beating Jones than stipe . Remember Aspinall is a high level jiu Jitsu artist and now that his knees have recovered, he is more lethal

Gane seemed nervous to death, he wasn't ready, similar to Justin/Khabib, Rose/Carla and Gillian, Jan/Glover, Sylvia/Randy, Megan/Nunes, Gerald/Khamzat or Lewis/Spivak, so, it happens, another way is that: Gane is a decorated Kickboxer and he would've had a better career as a kickboxer, or lastly, the last way was that, like, it was Jon's HW Debut, so no one knew what type of fighter Jon would be at HW, so I think Jon would've done that to any HW, But also lastly, with now how Gane knew the type of fighter Jon is at HW, an improved Gane smokes him in a rematch.

He is not man. He definetly has the potential. Tom Aspinall ( both knees are recovered ) is much better than him with better speed as well. The thing is Cyril looked so quick coz he has fought mostly the slower heavyweights. Isn't it crazy that he has not even fought Curtis Blaydes once ? I genuinely believe that in case Cyril had beaten Aspinall , Pavlowich and Blaydes,he would have developed adequate grapping skills and wrestling skills along better striking coz Aspinall is much quicket than him. Had he beaten these 3, he would be more prepared to take such a massive challenge. Good Luck to him.
