Ciryl is definitely the future of the division. This fight against Jones will simply tell us if he’s ready right now or still has to grow into a championship fighter. This is a legacy fight for both men.

@@cassio.ludewigs Yes but everyone can see it's not the hammerfist that did the damage, it was the first crazy counter-punch to the jaw and the last punch to the face. So it was overall as smooth as it gets indeed.

Never seen a heavyweight move like Gane. Jones says the movement is overrated, maybe he's right, but visually Ciryl is the smoothest striker the heavyweight division ever seen

If you put Gane vs either of those guys in their prime's I'm confident he would lose to both.

Physique means absolutely nothing in fighting. Cormier dominated everyone beside jon jones. Gane got destroyed by francis who isn't known for his wrestling yet jons one of the greatest wrestlers in ufc history and is also one of the greatest strikers in ufc history. Jones took Gane so seriously that he didn’t even want to give him space to do his thing, went straight to wrestling asap. Bones respected the hell out of Gane’s game to the point he took him out quick and suffocated any space Gane could have in his movement to ultimately submit him. Goat performance. with Top tier Opponent. Anybody who downplays Gane is downplaying Jones’ performance.

These HWs who only have timed uppercuts and overhand rights as tools can no longer stay at the top of the division, let alone get a belt and defend it. Crazy how MMA has become filled with versatile talents even in this division. I root for Cyril but Jon is the goat, and I'm sure he would wipe out most of the top 15 HW, especially Derrick, who obviously has nothing to do up there.

I loved how he quickly responded with deadly savage precision shots and kicks after Tuivasa dropped him, like a hurt lion he became 10 times more dangerous. One of the best fights of the year. Man is savage and a lovable fighter. I hope he beats Jones.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of people here laughing him off because Jones made short work of him, and he did. But that loss has no impact on what he can do in the future. If he works at his grappling and keeps his striking to around the level it's at, the title is certainly not out of his reach. I'd definitely like to see a "real" fight between him and Jones, it was disappointing in the way that McGregor v Aldo was.

I’m still hurt over this loss 🤦♂️ Gane wasn’t even himself yesterday. He needs to leave Fernand Lopez and join a different gym that will get his mentality and grappling right. Yesterday was embarrassing especially for a athletic talented HW like Gane.

@@Troupe_Master He should’ve definitely beat Jones by clear points or split decision, he had every advantage except ground game. He froze up and got taken down instantly, he’s way too strong and talented to be treated like that smh 🤦♂️ he needs to go to Dagestan at this point

@@Spitfire666100 I whole heartedly believe that Gane froze up in the moment, he let the pressure of the big moment get to him. I swear on everything if Gane gets his mentality right, if Jones and Gane ever cross paths again we’re gonna see a whole different fight.

Gane loss to Jones will be a blessing In disguise. That humiliation will make him unstoppable. Because he will never lose to a wrestler or grappler ever again. And he is already ahead everyone In the division in terms of striking.
