Miesha just fought smarter. She didn’t stay in range and turn it into a boxing match where Holm is strongest, she shot in and took it to the ground and Holm’s ground game looked shockingly weak. Rousey easily could’ve done the same thing to Holm but someone on her coaching staff fooled her into thinking she could strike.

ironic isnt it? ronda beat tate twice yet holm beat ronda as ronda was bullrushing in eating shots like no tommorow and eventyually got koed. Miesha did indeed fight smarter not rushing in and managed to not only take holm down twice (the first 2 times she had ever been taking down in her mma career) but the first person to submit her (although holm was winning the fight prior to the finish). this was mieshas goilden moment in mma. just a shame she never got to defend it

@@judgedredd3568 100% her downfall was not sticking to what got her the belt. She let the media and the strikers get in her head. She thought she had to get KOs to be more marketable. I was a fan at one time but towards the end I was happy she got slept. I can say the same about a few on today's roster too

That’s one of the most dramatic finishes that I’ve ever seen. Down on the cards, for the championship, times running out, you take a shot and age gets it. Holly wing tap and goes to sleep punching. Shit was crazy.

One of my favourite moments in this sport. Despite what this video shows, my memory is thinking that she was for sure going to lose the decision if it ended and she needed the finish. Cupcake went for the kill and won gold against a very game Holly Holm. MMA History.

This victory the way it happened and who it happened to was probably one of the greatest things the sport has ever seen. Miesha had been shown to be able to make it to the big one. Twice against Rhonda but could never seem to win the big one Then she does against the woman that beat Rhonda for the belt and does it in the final stretch

That was a great fight. Holm controlled Tate during the stand up, but you could tell Miesha had the skills on the ground. Tate got the opportunity in the last 2 minutes, and took advantage to become the champ.

One of the toughest and most impressive woman I've ever seen ! In her one fight against rhonda rhonda had her in a submission arm bar that she would not even give rhonda the respect of tapping out even though rhonda had her arm bent in a position that arms are not intended to go in or even be in which resulted in meishas arm being severely broken! One tough ass woman 💪😎👍

When I watched this live I lost my shit. I love a brutal war or a technical chess match. But my favorite is when a somewhat boring fight suddenly gets crazy. I respect Holly because she didn’t need to take this fight and could’ve easily waited for the Ronda rematch and made a crazy amount of money.

Miesha is such a beauty, in and out of the ring. She was great on the Joe Rogan podcast - I know that myself and a lot of dudes fell for her watching that interview. She's just a real one. And my gawd she's built like a brick outhouse, and looks amazing in street clothes or her fight gear. A real American beauty.

The last 2 minutes of this fight had everyone freaking out. She deserved that win. She spent most of the fight behind and it was when the do or die moment set in you can see Miesha's skill set start to work. Amazing to see her with the gold. Unfortunately she needs a much better training camp for her striking. He wrestling is good but her grappling is full of holes. Regardless She really has been a true ambassador to the sport and certainly a driving force behind rise of the women's division in the ufc and MMA.

I'm dying to see Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey III. When Miesha Tate is just doing interviews and stuff, I think she's so lovable and pretty. She seems too nice and innocent to be a an MMA fighter, but in the octagon she's a bad ass. I really dug her when her and Ronda Rousey were opposing trainers on Ultimate fighter. That was my favorite season because of it.

There's been a lot of great fights in UFC ... but i put this at the top. contrasting styles. very technical. very close fight. miesha needing the finish to win it, eating shots to the face, finally getting that takedown, holly scrambling to escape, miesha closing her eyes and squeezing on that choke with everything she had, holly fighting back until literally her last breathe. What a truly epic battle. Thank you both!

Technical submission. Ref called fight after Holly passed out. UFC should call it what it really is one became unconscious. In boxing it would be called a knockout. Holly never gave up.

Nothing wrong with tapping if you know you've been beat, but it's just so much more badass that she kept punching the air before completely losing consciousness cause quitting wasn't an option. I think very highly of both of them till this day.

I don't understand how sometimes fighters are brilliant in one performance and next they're clueless or don't follow the same strategy that leads them to winning.😋 This was marvelous work I've never seen Miesha fight this well ever Imagine if she would have fought Rousey a 3rd time instead of Holme could she have beat Ronda like this? What would it be like today if Ronda never fought Holly and instead for Meisha.

I think Miesha should’ve fought Ronda after this, but Ronda probably wasn’t ready yet. Regardless Miesha is one of the women who laid that first groundwork for women’s MMA period. A true MOTHER
