He's been fighting for a long time and just wanted to get paid well. He just wanted the UFC to understand that he's important to his division which he is.

Underground906 they gave him an offer til last minute when he was already making his decision about Bellator cause they actually gave a shit about Gegard. He wasn't asking for much, just to be compensated better cause he's a vet and a title shot which with all the shit that's been going on at middleweight it's not really worth it anymore. Jacare was in line, had to fight Whittaker to stay active and lost his shot and Yoel was in line too and Whittaker beat him too and lost his real title shot. Bisping is a moron and kept a lot of fighters away from a title shot. Hell, even Luke Rockhold (although he didn't deserve one) but technically him and Bisping have unfinished business but Bisping is gonna ride off saying he knocked him out in one round even though he got choked out in their first fight. Instead of defending his title against real contenders, he's having the middleweight division beat each other up and hopefully the fighters who were once deserving of the title shot lose to someone. Gegard doesn't want that bullshit happening to him.
