Even though newer fans to MMA might not know him, Gilbert's striking is really among the top of current crop of UFC heavyweights. This fight is going to be entertaining if they both come out to make a statement...however, I would not stand and trade with Gilbert if I were JDS.

The Yvel/dos Santos fight should be great. I think dos Santos will win though, and he could be the next big thing. He is an awesome striker.

gilbert is tough as hell, he impressed me when he took a beating from barnett and still fighting back from the bottom. but JDS is like the best up-in-comer in the HW but still should be fun to watch. oh and tell the refs to be careful cause they might get knocked out lol!

Fair points but lets try and remember its just about two guys getting into a a ring, octagon, triangle whatever ... the promotions are a platform and the styles are just that styles ... sure the complete MMA practitioner these days needs a total well rounded game but not everybody has and thats ok by me, fighters still need the navigate away from Kongos clinch for example, Its mixed martial arts not a wrestling and kickboxing championship, Regardless personally i just happy to see two guys

I dont and never have watched Pride, I give any fighter that gets in a cage with another man to fight full credit and respect. Ive watched the UFC for about 4-5 years, I love it but still ive not heard of this guy, Like I said if he proves me wrong then he deserves it, even if he puts up a good fight and looses he will deserve credit. Somehow I just have this feeling he will loose badly. Oh by the way any1 can KO any1 if they get hit in the right place. Who else has he beat/KO ???

What are you talking about, Dan Henderson wanted more money than what Dana had offered him. He was offering Dan fights for a long time, then he signed with Strikeforce. Dana wanted to keep him in the UFC, not drive him out. Do you think he offered Fedor a crappy contract, no he didn't, he offered him a great one but just didn't sign it. Dana like Dan Henderson and wanted to keep him, but just didn't come to an agreement.

@DJPalace88 I hope you're excluding most of the Heavyweight division in boxing. Most of them are on the George Foreman cheeseburger diet. I think the athletecism in the two sports are actually comparable for the most part.
