@Rcee01 indeed, his attitude towards mma is quite admirable and something that one would like to see permeate throughout the sport, especially those point fighters that go into the ring/cage not even thinking about finishing a fight or being assertive in their style. cheers

@BalanceOfTheCards yeah true. still in my eyes, he's not a #1 contender. a more appropriate next fight would've been thiago silva or rampage jackson, or even lyoto machida. would've been really interesting fights imo.

I thought Diego won too... people get very precious about striking technically but at some point there has to be a crossover where volume and power of less technical strikes scores more points.

Matt landed twice as many strikes, stuffed 14/15 take downs and scored a knockdown. I agree Diego's has a tremendous amount of heart but that should not be enough to win a fight.

17 stuffed takedowns is more impressive then landing one. Diego did rock Kampman in the 2nd and a little in the 3rd round. Even saying that I think Martin won that fight and outstruck Diego throughout the whole fight.

Hey Kampmann fans - get over it, already. It was not a robbery. Rounds 2 and 3 were both razor-thin. If Kampmann wanted to win it, he should have stepped on the gas during those rounds. That's the problem with fighters who *only* counter. Even if they're laser-accurate (which he was, no doubt), if you're going against a fighter who will be constantly pushing you back on your heels, you need to either finish him or start pushing back yourself. Seriously, stop crying about it already!

A takedown should be worth 1 point, a takedown defense should be worth 5. If that was true Kampman would have won 100-1. Also if theres 1 point per clean punch that would be for kampmann 100-30. How Diego won that fight is one of the greatest mysteries of the universe to me.

Diego won the fight for sure. judges score mainly in 4 things, Striking, takedown/grappling ,Octagon Control & Aggression. Striking Goes to kampmann althought diego rocked him twice in the sceond round, Takedown goes to diego. Forest said on his twitter TD defense is natural, its like if someone is punching u n if u defend that doesn't mean u got the point. Octagon Control: Kampman was backing up the entire time. Aggression: Diego was the aggressor. Diego has more heart than kampmann,

@DBCdestroyers Dude...Kampman was backing up most of the fight. You know a guy is in trouble if he starts back-pedalling during a match! (that was Kampman, btw). This is the case of Rampage Jackson vs Machida. Jackson was moving forward the whole time, which won him the last 2 rounds of that fight. This is almost the exact same case. Dana white agrees that jackson won that fight, and so do many others. Joe Rogan agrees that sanchez won this fight.

@DBCdestroyers I understand and yes the judges were stupid but i think diego won because he had more octagon control with his agression but never put kampman in danger But in the end I do think diego won but kampman had more effective strikes and seeing Dana look at his phone for most of the fight I dont understand why he thinks anyone won when he isnt even watching

@jedihillis Take a look at Diego Sanchez' face at the end of his last fight. Perhaps you might wanna rethink that notion. These guys get a pittance compared to what the UFC hauls in on a daily basis. No one's saying they should be making Pacquiao money, but just fair compensation for putting their bodies on the line. Is that too much to ask for?
