Gaethje's debut was a 5 round main event against a Top 5 opponent! I doubt that will ever happen again and it shows just how confident the UFC was in Gaethje's ability to entertain

@dylanmitcham1069 , that was interesting because Khabib finished Johnson when Johnson was no.6 ranked, then he moved up in the rankings somehow to no.5 place, and then Gaethje fought Johnson. I doubt Johnson was top 5 level at that point coming from a finish loss, but still a good debut for Gaethje.

Back in 2014, I was so excited to see Eddie Alvarez make his UFC debut. I am a Japanese mma fan and Eddie had a huge fan base here in Japan. Great fights against Joachim Hansen, Kawajiri Tatsuya, Katsunori Kikuno in DREAM. unfortunately, he lost his debut bout but later he became a ufc champion. I was so happy to see that 😢🎉

@@jrg5315 Yes, it was his last match before he had surgery. They had to remove a foot of colon that was full of holes because of the diverticulitis infection. Fecal matter were basically leaking into his bloodstream. There's plenty of articles about it. Mensjournal wrote a pretty decently detailed one. Shouldn't be hard to find if you google it.
