dutro should have cut him off better then. even the commentators kept saying how dutro was letting espinoza slip away to the left. backing up was letting dutro miss with his heavy shots which wears him out quick

Did anyone else notice in the 3rd round especially, that Espiosa kept circling away towards the ref, thus preventing Dutro from cutting off his retreat? I felt like the ref was actually out of position, intentionally on a number of occasions.

@@_LL_384 you're right he wasn't out, out. However, that was the second hard drop he had. And I felt his back was exposed for too long, there seemed to be no urgency. You can see the ref takes a second to see if the fighter was able to continue, which he decided the fighter was unable.

You'll be happy to know he doesn't have much time left on his contract. He's 2-2 in UFC, his two wins coming against guys who have since been dropped for having hopeless UFC records. Espinosa probably has only 2 or 3 fights left if he doesn't win most of them. Good riddance.

Dutro too much the kicks, he got two choices, be closer to make the kick not work too much, or be further, if he use closer Espinosa is exposing himself to Dutros strong hand(right) that just hitting him one time drop him to the floor, Dutro it's an animal with the potency of his punches, but dont really have order and get lost by himself doing the same and being predictable. Espinosa choose to run because Dutro is a offensive fighter and offensive plus offensive means that just the correct punch, in the correct time in the correct place, with the correct amount of potency will condemn Espinosa to Dutros strong punches, Espinosa it's a bitch for run? Maybe, Espinosa use a good strategy? Definitely

Something I've only noticed after watching all of Gaethje's fights, is that other fighters neglect throwing shallow angle uppercuts outside the clinch. All most all of their strikes are either straight down the pipe jabs and straights, or hooks, while an long uppercut from the center is wide open. Just my armchair opinion... I know it's easier said than done, but Gaethje's uppercuts, outside of a clinch, are absolutely brutal and no one seems to expect them.

daaaaaamn that's a huge bummer! after seeing the replay he was def just covering up to stay alive for the last 2 seconds. I mean even tho its illegal to get kicked while your on the ground its just instinct to expect somebody to kick you when your on the ground and they are running at you full speed. he was just covering to survive that last blow before it was over. total bummer. oh well lol

Danas mad at Espinosa. Saying hes done as in hes not getting another chance. Guy was a superior fighter, spent the whole 2nd and 3rd rounds running and then when he finally gets the winning knockdown he didnt even go in to finish the guy off and stopped fighting before the ref even called it. Danas basically saying fuck this kid hes not hungry and idc if he won, he doesnt deserve the contract.

Looked as tho Dana was disappointed with ref Mark Smith. Could b wrong but it looked like he waved like "Oh pls" & said "He's done. Mark smith is done" .. Was pretty ridiculous to wave off the fight seconds b4 when Dutro easily would've survived the 2-3 seconds & was rolling out of harm's way. Yeah he would've lost to decision but having refs who make bad decisions can ruin fighters records much like judges who have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Maybe he's had some bad calls lately that Dana didn't like & that just put the nail in his coffin? I could b completely wrong. Just how it seemed from the little I could see.
