Usually I don’t blame fighters of follow up shots after huge a knock down. That hesitation or mercy could cost his career and it is not easy to hold back when you are already in the action. However this one was different he took few seconds to acknowledge that the opponent is out and proceeded to throw a shot.

It was awful. Real fight fans don't like seeing this shit because a LOT of us train (if only casually) and we know how completely unnecessary and dangerous this is for a man who's stiff. Rodrigues lost a lot of potential fans. Guaranteed.

I normally say you can't blame the fighter due to adrenaline but the fact that Robocop wandered over, paused to think about the follow up shot and still through it was pretty ridiculous

@@TheSelleycopter Exactly this. I normally 'defend' fighters that follow up with shots, but on this occasion it was blatantly unnecessary. It was not in the heat of the moment. It was a calm and collected follow up shot.

What's worse, he already had a clean win, a KO highlight reel finish, his work was done and he could have had a walk-off KO which looks more dominant but he spoiled his own win for himself, the fans, and mostly for jack. This fight was stopped early. Hermansson had Robocop right where he wanted him. He was waiting for another hammer fist to counter with an arm triangle.

For sure we should avoid unnecessary damage. But I think we should be concious of the fact we encourage these guys to have a killer instinct to deal as much damage as possible for our entertainment. Now we shun him because he didnt turn off his killer instinct maybe 2 seconds sooner while hes full of adrenaline. Even if 99% of people are able to make that decision we have to accept there is a 1% who arent able to.

No, it's not much to expect a fighter to know when an opponent is layed out flat, completely unconscious and to NOT then step over him and punch him in the head again well after the fact.

@@preest_nznot always easy to tell in a split second if your opponent is out cold or just rocked or how quickly he is going to recover. He even hesitated for a couple of seconds giving Herb plenty of time to stop it but he was slow af. Definitely not his fault as other refs would've been able to get there in time.
