You know, I think Kai is a great fighter (I’d love to fight him-Aspinal voice), but I think the issue is the rule set here. Pantoja is a battle tested veteran of the ufc, he has fought under these same rules and dominated the heaviest of competition with his ability to stay consistent. Kai is fighting a proven champ, someone that’s been been in the ufc while he’s been in Rizin. Yes, he is a freak that breaks peoples faces and can do everything, but that doesn’t matter when you can knee on the ground, when you’re in an octagon and not in a ring, where you can have your back against an actual surface, where you’re fighting guys that have been doing this stuff against top competition for over a decade. I think he can get it done, but Pantoja is not one of these little Japanese guys Kai was fighting, he’s a big dude even though he’s short, and he is way better and more measured than some of the people Kai has fought. His grappling, his heart, his ability to get a take down, the fact Kai is a 135er and not a 125er, these things matter. We shall see when the time comes, I think Pantoja by decision tho. If I’m wrong, oh well, guess he proved me wrong

By a guy who knocked down Petr Yan and Marlon Vera as well. If Asakura wins this it would require the best of what he's capable of

I really hope the Japanese KO Artist wins, but unfortunately, and surprisingly, most asians in MMA/UFC suck... barely any are elite. It's always best to bet against the Asian, but I wouldn't risk it for this matchup. Tough call, I think.
