Honestly, seeing the real Henry in this interview after a close loss, much respect to him. Taking a loss like a man, paying respect where respect is due, and still making jokes. Don’t retire, people want to see you fight!

He performed very admirably for walking straight into a title shot against the champion of the deepest division in mma after a 3 year layoff. He's also 36 years, old in a weight class that isn't kind to age, while also being at a comical size disadvantage. Literally everything stacked against him and was able to make it that close! Simply one of the greatest combat athletes ever.

I will say I'm not really a CCC fan, but I loved seeing Henry as himself and not the cheesy joker he typically portrays. Both have a place, and people love to hate it. It's just a persona. But seeing the humility after the loss is 👏🏻 then hearing him talk honestly about his priorities, saying his time with his children is precious and how he needs to discuss this with his wife? "Cejudo is the ATHLETE all fans should and need to appreciate" in 2008 he quit for 3 years after winning olympic gold, at 21 years old. who the fuck takes breaks at 21 years old? same thing after he defended his BW, saying in his retirement speech that "I'm not going to let anyone take that away from me". He's a bitch that once he gets an accomplishment, he's scared to death of replicating it and risk losing. He prefers to sit on his ass and tell himself how great he is instead of competing and putting his accomplishments on the line. So no, fans shouldn't appreciate him, dumbass. They should appreciate fighters who are willing to take risks and are not afraid of competing, even if they're less talented.

As someone who’s been a fan of Cejudo and followed his career since early 00’s before his Olympic win, I noticed there’s two versions of Henry Cejudo. The hungry & fresh Cejudo & the skillful Cejudo who’s taken time away excepting to be the same winning Cejudo from the past. This press conference is unfortunately similar to when he lost the 2012 Olympic trials trying to earn a second chance for another gold medal. Same scenario then compared to now. After winning his 08’ gold medal he took time away from the sport & was hoping in 2012 he would be the same version of himself and relied on his past experience. His fight against Sterling still wasn’t bad for someone who’s been away for 3 years but we all know this wasn’t the best version of Cejudo we saw. If you put Sterling against the Henry who was still fresh in competing and just beat Dillashaw we would’ve seen a different fight against Sterling. Ultimately it was his time away and the ring rust that hurt Cejudo’s chances of winning this one. Only two goats have proven they can be away from the sport and still come back and win & thats GSP & Jones. Nonetheless if this was Henry’s last time in the octagon then at least he walked away with the fans supporting him 100% win or loss. Great job champ you’ll always be on the list of goats for your achievements

Bigger active fighter calls him to the center in the fifth just to run. Cejudo won the wrestling. He gave up some cage takedowns and let the best backpack in the game pose no threat with his back was able to make beasting out look easy and most definitely had the slicker nicer takedowns. Vicious bread and butter inside trip and nasty single in the center and runs him off the mat bully style in the fifth put him in a cradle and pinned him 😂😂😂😂

@@samblack5313 big fan of both. Cejudo said he was gonna do some things in the fight but also so did Aljo whose bigger and active. I’m not fond of someone calling someone to the center then fleeing in any situation. Leg kicks for five rounds take downs he did nothing with. I just felt like Cejudo got his rhythm toward the end and it took a few rounds to shake a few years off. I was impressed because Aljo looked uncomfortable the whole fight. I was shocked to see Cejudo older smaller out for three years be fresher stalking at the end. Showed much more heart that whole fight and I respect that. There’s a reason Aljo was getting booed all week in NJ next to his home town. I grew up wrestling for 15 years and at the end of the day they are both wrestlers, and I respect the D3 guy that kept the chip on his shoulder and invites an Olympic champ to wrestle but he just wasn’t impressive that fight.

@@ajreyna2350 agree completely. I thought for sure when he called him to the center he was gonna do some damage or attempt to. Not get picked apart and run the whole last five as champ.
