Honestly dude Volk surprised me in his first fight with Mackachev. Became a fan. Was devastated when he lost to Ilia. If only Volk, took proper time out after the Mackachev knockout, maybe the Ilia fight would have turned out different. Ilia is cool though. Would be really interested in him vs Mackachev if Ilia beats a Charles or DP at 155.

The comraderier between these two, the friendship and family feeling, this resonates with fans 1000x more than fake face offs and insults at press conferences. Sell this, sell hard work and good morals and men with integrity like these guys, not phony crap to hype fights. the ufc promotes the fighters own characters, different personalities resonate with different people. i think the ufc is almost finished transitioning from the brash arrogant street thug type characters dominating the sport in the early days, to professional athletes competing for success. the loud mouth thug is almost extinct.

im Avar (Dagestan nation like Habib) from Moscow, when I was young, i spent my summers with grandma in Dagestan. My father from Tad-Magitl, mountain village near Sildi (Habib village) I have 2 degrees and working as gamedesigner, so dagestanis can not be only fighters 😁😁

He's getting promoted big time, more than almost every other UFC fighter. Also they can promote multiple fighters at the same time. Also Jon Jones's hype must be milked until the very last drop, this guy is undefeated for almost 15 years at the very top of the game, he will retire very soon, they need to 1) make the most money out of him, and 2) he already cemented his career forever, he now needs to make as much money as possible in the least amount of fights/punishment.

The defining question though: could this version of Islam give Khabib the closest run for his money he’s ever had if it came down to it? Could he beat him? It’s hard to argue for Islam when Khabib won so dominantly and could still probably beat Islam on the ground. Stand-up game is Islam easy. Hard to say 😂

I love that his English is improving because he can really express himself better. Like the UFC Eurasia channel, all his interviews in Russian can go so much more in depth because he can really articulate. Very interesting to listen to. He can now be an English teacher 😂

some of those questions that daniel asked were not easy for a non native speaker to understand, islam handled them like a champ ( well cause he is the champ) .. his english is so good now , so good to see them doing their best not just in their fighting skills but also their english, makes it much more engaging for us bums watching the fights, specially at the fight build up stage :)

I've been a steady hater of the Russian and Dagestan fighters but I can't seem to dislike this guy. Sure I was rooting for Charles, Volk and Dustin but the way this guy carries himself is entertaining, funny, humble and he's a savage. He really seems like a good person in and outside of fighting
