All the gym stories of him were true. also I've seen his gym training videos and his early sambo fights,, he was always fast and skillful. and very strong.

most people dont understand that ranking is just a positioning after wins, it good parameter but it isnt everything, doesnt mean ranked 20 fighter cant beat ranked 10, or ranked 15 cant beat ranked 5 in the case of Islam Makhachev himself he was really this kind of fighter, thats why they ducked him wildly...

He dont even get a chance to fight them. He doesn't need to fight top ranks to be great fighter, he already is great from beginning of his ufc career

Then they strip Charles from the belt and after beating Gaethje and submitting him n the first, belt stripped already, all adversity, first he was to fight in January in Bazil and then this Abu Dhabi shit people against him because his not a muslim? What Khabib and Islam have proven in mma is wrestling needs to be a main focus in the skill set / training for the next gen coming through. You need solid boxing / kickboxing Wrestling Ju jitsu To be competitive Good striking with some takedown defence and ju jitsu isn’t enough anymore

Wrestling is much safer than striking. No matter how good you are in the stand up, you can be KO'd out of nowhere, like Usman was against Edwards. When a wrestler is in an advantageous position against their opponent on the ground, they are usually in very little danger. Assuming they don't make massive blunders (which wrestlers of Islam's caliber will not), the worst that happens is the opponent escapes and the fight resets.

These haters say Islam & Khabib boring because they make them look wrong in the end about everything what they say earlier. They make these fighters look as easy fights. These passive aggressive haters feel depressed, defeated, disturbed, devastated, infuriated and hopeless after watching every fight of Islam & Khabib. They hate to give credit to these guys what they deserve from the beginning and it will be like that even after this but it doesn't matter at all. This hate is coming only because of what Khabib and Islam stand for. It is because of their beliefs, origin and principles. Now true champion has a name and it is Islam Makhachev.

I still love Charles so much man. Still my favorite. But after this fight i cant help but to have so much respect for Islam. Didnt care too much for him before, but the way he carries himself is nice. Respect to both fighters, Both are such warriors. Still not gonna count Oliveira out though. i believe he'll be back for another title shot. Congrats Islam!

Who the UFC puts against him must be Beneil Dariush or it;s a big joke and degrades the championship to a circus belt. Islam himself said, even when Ben got hurt, "I think Beneil is the best other than me. We have to fight. I will win the championship then he will be my first defense" You can't deny Dariush on merit either. Let's get the best vs the best. Not bury it with circus fights. Neither Islam nor Ben have to talk too much. Their fighting does it all. Kind of refreshing given the day and age. That's what sport is supposed to be anyhow. Performance based.

I found it funny that people were saying "yea Charles beat all these top guys" - he has, but most of them were not in their prime anymore including Poirier, Chandler, Gaethje. All of them have had long careers and took a bunch of damage at the time they faced Charles

@@ionit8783 Charles is also past his prime very likely. He looked completely off vs Islam. Little aggression, just hoping for good counters etc. You cant deny that. So yea, Charles was just a little better than his opponents that were past their prime (also, some of those fights were kinda close as he got knocked down on several occasions) . So I was just criticizing the fact that people gave Charles too much credit for beating guys who werent in their prime but rather just wrongly ranked. An Arman or Gamrot beat most of the Top10 any given day. Not to throw Kutateladze, Ismagulov or any other prospect into the equation. Most of them beat these veterans who are past their prime imo. Dont tell me you think Gaethje belongs to the Top10 of the LW division at this point? He can barely form a sentence as he took so much beating over the years, yet improve any of his skills which have stalled years ago.
