Loving the comment section standing up for the fighter this needs to continue because they will take notice and if we don’t say anything who will. Let the fighters recover after writhe cut and keep the media for before the final weight cut or after the fight. It’s so simple, nothing that hasn’t been said already or asked already is being said or asked here it’s 100% pointless.

Why defend someone that is making the choice to put themself in that state just so they can fight smaller guys and talk shit? If you can't fight in your own weight class, maybe you shouldn't be fighting... They are doing it to themselves. I'm not going to feel sorry for them.

@Jules khamzat? He's really respectful, especially to his opponents. I don't remember which fight it was but basically, he put his opponent to sleep and when most guys would jump up, ignore the opponent and celebrate, khamzat waited for the medics so his opponent doesn't get hurt from his head hitting the canvas again. When you see him talking trash, remember that it's all just to make money (just like anyone else in the entertainment business)
@ramses8289
@ramses8289 2 жыл бұрын
@Jules again, that's just what he says but what he actually does is protect his opponents from getting hurt unnecessarily. Actions speak louder than words. He's in the ufc to make money and controversy is the perfect way to get mainstream attention

They assume that its better schedule-wise to book them for interview right after the ceremonial weight in since they can be physically all be at the same place for everything it would make sense. After that they go right in rehydratation phase, there wont be any time for interviews. Its the least worst of all the bad possibilities really.

@markyg1368
@markyg1368 2 жыл бұрын
@@h8stupidppl the fighters and the fight itself is what matters. I’m not saying fuck interviews because they actually get a lot of eyes to the sport and to the fighters but in times like this where they just had a weight cut, the interviews shouldn’t even be discussed as a priority for fighters to do. There won’t be a fight if fighters just go and faint due to a hard weightcut. All of them have done 100s of media showing during fight week. I think an interview after a fucking isn’t gonna fucking matter at this point. Common ufc do better

LFG Khamzat, it's cool how he doesn't backstab Darren. You can sense the interviewers are sometimes trying to poke fun at them a bit for how close they've become. Like when DC interviewed him and said "what is this shit with u and Darren" & Khamzat responded "this is not shit, why you say this shit, brotha. It's like you and Khabib, this is not shit, this is brotha, you gotta have someone that gonna have your back." I Love & respect the loyalty. I think DC was actually a lil jealous that the fans voted them the best duo in MMA over him & Khabib.

I’m so glad I came back to this comment section to post my first comment. After reading all the comments, I can appreciate Khamzat’s fighting ability but I’ll never appreciate the way he is as a person. Social media and commenters hyped this man too godly proportions and all Khamzat did was fight a couple of cans and ran his mouth for MONTHS. Fast forward to the conference he makes fun of burns for crying after his fights but khamzats whole demeanor changed when he got hit so hard by Gilbert’s fist his head looked straight down. I’ll never appreciate how commentors claim to be experts and call burns a glass chin and ride so much bandwagon. I will admit Khamzat is a solid fighter but he’s not indestructible and he better have a game plan if and when he fights Usman.

While the sample size of Chimaev in the octagon is small, he has already broken the way we look at stats. He has landed 8.68 significant strikes per minute. Burns lands 3.12 per minute. In four UFC fights, Chimaev has landed 112 strikes while Burns has landed 170. Against Demian Maia in 2020, it only took 13 punches to give Burns the win. Chimaev has a 77% strike accuracy mark and has taken less damage (.08) compared to Burns (2.90). Against Usman, Burns was jabbed to death, which affected his ability to find any advantage. He has since been training with Usman to take on Chimaev. "Usman came a couple of days to help out," Burns told TMZ Sports, "He was helping me a couple of times, not training with me but kinda coaching. Very high IQ and very good advice. Was good to have him around." On the ground could end up being a factor. Burns averages 2.16 takedowns landed per 15 minutes and has landed 15 in his last eight fights. Chimaev has landed four takedowns in his first four UFC fights and has two submission wins. Burns’ overall ability has helped him become a threat in the division for years. Not discrediting Chimaev, Burns believes the odds do not tell the whole story. "I think [Khamzat's] very tough, I think he's very good, but let's be honest, he's never seen on one on my caliber, grappling wise, jiu-jitsu, striking, speed, in a lot of actual experience,” Burns told TMZ Sports. “I've been there many times in the UFC title fights, many events. I think I have a lot of experience but I see that guy very, very tough -- very, very dangerous. I'll take him very seriously.” "I think my arms raising. I don't know how, maybe a submission, maybe a knockout but I don't see a decision. I see a knockout or a submission. Second-round or third-round finish.” It is not hard to think that Chimaev is destined to become the next contender for the UFC welterweight title. At 27, his future looks brighter than ever. Is the 35-year-old Burns being overlooked, however? If Chimaev can come guns blazing right out of the gate, it could be a quick night. Burns’ hunger and overall skills should not be denied. This is not a walk in the park for Chimaev, and Burns will look to prove that at UFC 273. Like UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, The Sporting News predicts Burns will get the win over Chimaev. Burns is patient and experienced enough to strike when the moment is right. One major mistake can make a difference in this fight. With a lot on the line for Chimaev, the pressure is on. Sporting News prediction: Burns via TKO (+900)
