Can we talk about Leon switching stances the whole fight? Throwing Colby off with that. He was cutting Colby off on the cage constantly keeping pressure. Sticking his leg with kicks the whole fight forcing Colby to shoot for takedowns off his opposite leg. Yeah Leon didn’t get the finish but he was winning before the fight even started. Crazy strategy.

@@guyontheinternet6034 Brother, he beat the pound for pound best fighter in the UFC, and his last win against Usman was all down to his fight IQ. He has improved soo much these last few fights. He made one or two errors today, but he could afford to make them. And it was pretty much just to dominate, humiliate and piss on Colby. Beat him at his own game. The man is one of the calmest individuals in the ring these days.

"He didnt play for 2 years" SO WHY DID HE GET A TITLESHOT?? XD 4 out of 7 of his last fights were title shots. 0 Wins against anyone from the roster the past 4 years, inactive for 2 years, yet gets the Titleshot over multiple names in his division that had 2 Digits winstreak (Belal, Gilbert etc), they were fighting without camps, fighting whilst injured, took all the challenges UFC threw at them to leave no excuse. Embarrassing performance with all the privilege he keeps getting and this was exposed tonight! Leon even outwrestled him, took him down, and was about to win by Submission many times.

Leon Dominated Colby for 20 mins of the fight . It’s hard to finish someone whose actively tryna avoid you . Leon wanted to hurt him, Colby wanted to survive and he did just that . What a stand up champ Leon is and hope he reigns for awhile 👏🏾

Ah man really like how crisp this guy is.. awesome counter reflex, awesome kicks, stance mix ups, pressure and angle control ... was awesome to see him fight, seems so chill and not driven by ego. Just a nice guy who wears his heart on his sleeve, admits he was crying back stage - absolute beast when its business time, dominant as .. strong af cardio. Leon Edwards doesn't show that much of his character in interviews or press conferences but when it matters like in the octagon and here, he really showed how strong his character is, like he said losing his ranking in covid everything he worked for to lose it because the casual fans don't like him and to keep wining keep training staying on his path and now the look on his face, that what he believed in and still believes in payed off, that is fucking growth and strength, you earned this Leon, I wish I could be more like you!

It’s nice that his mom and his coaches were able to calm him down. It also shows how discipline he his and how much he respects his team to actually listen to them. It would have been easier for him to just go out and do whatever he wanted but he stuck to plan. I’m shocked Colby only got a water bottle that day😂. Congrats and props to Rocky!

I'm an American,but I'm genuinely happy for Edwards,he's humble and well mannered and has brought him and his family upward through MMA. That's what it's all about and is nice to see. Covington is vile and sells out to make a buck,to insult this man's murdered dad is revolting and makes me sick. It's heartening to see the RIGHT outcome,now if we can make Covington's "BUDDY IN CHIEF" go away for good in 2024 all will be well. I hate to see American's portray our country w/vile manners and classless acts.

One thing Edwards isn't doing he ain't ducking no one that's for sure and seems will fight anyone and defend his title. And after all the smack Covington talked he handled himself like a true Champion in and out of the cage. It's nice to see there are athletes out there that have good sportsmanship.

I think Colby not looking the same may not be the waiting time off. It could be due to Leon's striking prowess/leg kicks and Leon also has underrated grappling.

Good counters & stance-switches along with some very high quality feints had Colby second-guessing himself a lot & really eroded his confidence, those leg kicks were messing Colby's leg up too, had those landed on the calf I could have seen him losing to a leg kick tko.

if you didn’t know Leon Edwards is an incredibly skilled champion and the skill gap between him and Colby is exponential. Leon worked his ass off to get to where he is, and for you to write off this fight as rigged makes me “disgusted”

After the first round I left with my friends to go to the bar because I saw Colby had nothing for Leon and it was over. Two years off for Colby, then coming right back to a title fight was dumb. If you are 33 you can’t sit out for 2 years.

Its the Dana White privilege that got him the title shot in the first place thats the problem. He never deserved this fight. The only title shot he earned was the first one in 2019. These last two he got gifted because of his big mouth. Maybe now he'll be made to fight a contender that's not on the verge of retirement.

Leon is showing that he's a well-rounded fighter and not just adept at the stand-up. He took Usman down and now was willing to exchange with Colby in the wrestling. You have to give him kudos for that on such a big stage with all the risks involved.

I was a pretty big Colby fan. Im not big on the trash talk. I just liked his cage presence. But im less of a fan today. He had the chance after the fight to say he crossed the line with bringing up his dad. But he doubled down. I just cant get down with that trash.

Kudos to Leon, there were lot of doubters prior to the fight, but he shut them all down. Pieced up Colby’s leg, he even grappled with him decently.
