This is unreal I remember fighting Ian at a judo Dan grading about 5 years ago in Dublin. Fella whooped my ass😂😂 you could tell he was a natural fighter but very respectable and friendly outside the mat. Wish him all the best 👊🏼

the moment he steps in the octagon with someone that can maul, he'll realise he should've listened to his mum. in his weightclass he'll never touch anything close to a belt. this whole video was basically him talking about boxing. train derail waiting to happen.

@@kingk7884 did you not see him grapple with jack grant?😂he outgrappled him,Ian’s also a judo black belt his grappling is underrated just because he doesn’t use it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it,plus now he’s at sandford MMA best believe he’s working hard on his grappling, jack grant is a top level submission specialist and couldn’t do anything to Ian,if anything Ian was more dangerous on the ground in that fight,and Ian looked like he could fight 5 more rounds at after finishing 25 mins

Obviously you’ve never been in a octagon or fight! When you get injuries in a fight 90% of the time you don’t feel the injury till a bit after the fight! Depends on what kind of injury! A lot of fighter tear there acl’s and don’t realize till days after the fight!

Any team that leaves a fighter that close to a championship fight was trying to tank the kid. And no good team would do that even if they had a serious problem with there fighter they would give them that last fight beings it was so close.

tbh, i didnt know Ian that well. I knew his opponent, Jordan more. Which made me want to cheer for Jordan. After watching this, it changed my whole opinion. UFC needs to do more of these, it builds a personal relationship with the fighter and gives you more of a look into the fighter than just their interviews before and after fights. I really enjoyed this.

I don't want to be a buzz kill, but making into the UFC is just the first step. I've seen so many young fighters get a contract and just disappear, then become broke and bitter. I wish him the best, I just hope he measures his expectations.

things have kind of changed in regards to people showing up without being vetted. almost everyone debuting in the UFC now, has to be on a 6 fight streak or they don't get in. There are clearly people brought in to lose a fight, like the poor kid they threw to sugar shane(which should absolutely not be happening) , but the kids getting multifight deals, have to prove they belong there. 1 loss can keep you out of the bigshow after going on a 5 fight run

Paddy played it well, turned them down twice because he said he wasn't ready. He didn't want to come in too soon and get beaten then disappear. Then cage warriors paid him a mega contract to stay the second time around

@@ChargedWords this is true. You're playin with fire as a young guy hyped up to hit the UFC runnin. It was really smart of him to hold off. Overall this kid looked sharp. Remained really calm in the exchanges. Him on the mic though... he needs a PR person. Lol

Part of a statement on the matter put out by his gym a while back. Seems like theres more to the story than hes letting on here.

It doesn’t make any sense that his team dropped him ! he’s a promising young fighter with a future in the UFC. Why did his team part ways with him ? there must be more to this story.

@@Saul1913 their statement said his fiancee became his manager and things went downhill from there. It says he was putting himself before other fighters, wanting special treatment, also apparently there were safety issues and that he put other fighters at risk and they let him go because he had become uncoachable. So yes, it was pay, but also apparently the kid had a very big ego and acted above everyone. That being said, well, yeah. He was above everyone, he was fighting for a championship. There's a 30 minute documentary on the kid and it shows his side of the story and actually shows he's not such a bad kid from what I can see.

Used to train with this guy at SBG swords he was always really nice to everyone and coached some classes occasionally. Dunno what really happened with the fallout with his team but I wish him the best of luck and hope he does well cos he's a good guy

Yea my whole family lives in Ireland so I root for the Irish fighters but Europe in general just doesn’t have the wrestling pedigree of America and even crazier places like The Caucaucus mountain region all the way to Iran

He's actually a decent wrestler. There's definitely holes but if you can beat jack, you are good because Jack's beaten some guys that are killers on the ground at Cage Warriors.

Decent doesn’t cut it though if he wants to be welterweight champion. The division is wrestling/grappling heavy with Usman, Covington, Khamzat, etc. having a lifetime of wrestling experience. Even Burns, who has world class BJJ, couldn’t handle with Usman’s grappling.

I cant wait to see him fight, seems like he has really good stand up with his boxing background and kicks, but the welterweight is stacked with high-level wrestlers which is terrible for his fighting style.

Excited to see Garry in the UFC but he was kicked from his team because of his and his girlfriend/manager's behaviour "Team KF confirmed that Garry’s position within the club had become “untenable” following “repeated warnings regarding his behaviour to other teammates and his coaches, that had become distinct since employment of a new manager in March.” The statement claims that since the employment of the new manager, Garry became “uncoachable“."
