He's totally unoriginal, he's misquotes about a dozen better retired fighters. He hasn't earned that sort of arrogance and it tells me his heads in the wrong spot for fighting. I foresee him being KO'd the first time he faces a decent patient striker or a wrestler with good boxing defence. He's there to be hit and trying too hard to be Conor McGregor. Nah not for me, he's more Masvidal than he is Conor.

He’s got the 2/3 ingredients to be a superstar, a captivating walkout and entertaining in the post fight interview, only time will tell if he’s got the fighting skill to match. I would love to see him against the winner of Lauzon v Cerrone, to find out if he is good enough to take over from the old guard.

Paddy is probably the first MMA fighter I actively love on his prime. I usually grow fond of fighters one or two years before they retire. Paddy is another sort of creature.

I think once he hits the Top 15 - Top 10, he'll catch a KO forsure. Watched an interview of his this week and the reporter brought up how everyone has been talking about how he keeps his chin in the air and will eventually get caught... He basically replied saying everyone is wrong, they don't know what they're talking about, and "scousers don't get knocked out". So ya.... definitely doesn't seem like he has any plans on changing that flaw lol.

@Pyo xiyo topuria is an average sized featherweight, he came in on short notice at lightweight and fought a guy who could easily be a welterweight, 8 inch height and reach disadvantage, took a clean head kick to the jaw that would've slept most fighters and still won.

@Pyo xiyo paddy is gangly and technically unsound, never has good defense, topuria takes risky fights while paddy doesn’t. You can repeat that he “nearly got finished” all you want but he showed his heart and chin where most fighters would’ve been ko’d. Also that likely wasn’t a 10-8, this sport isn’t scored like boxing, you should rewatch the round. And the bottom line is that ilia is a stylistic nightmare for paddy.

I know he’s been hit cleanly each fight, but this has a similar feel to the featherweight rise of Conor. Conor got his home fight in his 3rd vs Brandao, this was Paddy’s 2nd. Time and more opponents will tell, but the vibe is real.

Khamzat was all hype until his 4th fight really, his first 2 opponents had a combined UFC record of 1-7. Also yeah, isn't Soren Bak still on a winning streak? Hardly doing shit for himself if he's winning. Losing to someone who's good isn't bad, especially when he hasn't lost for 4 years and his last loss was to Bak. Soren Bak wouldn't do bad in the UFC and you know that too. He chose Bellator over the UFC because of the money he was offered, not because he wouldn't do well there.

Why didn’t UFC upload Mokaev’s interview - that was a really impressive debut! That’s a warrior who deserves some hype! He’s young, hungry and humble. First thing he does after winning is calling out a ranked fighter Tim Elliot. He’s not ducking anyone and he’s serious about going for the title within the next couple of years. I don’t know if he can but he definitely has potential and heart - those are the fighters UFC should promote and encourage more.

That's great, but the dude isn't even ranked and he's getting treated like a champion, simply because the UFC wants another european loudmouth Connor type to sell tickets in Europe This is the LW division man, Fiziev, Bobby Green, Iaquinta would beat this dude without a doubt in my mind, but we shall see.

The reason I believe in Paddy is he's an amazing grappler. If he was another striker, we would see him get put flat on his back and the hype train get derailed really quick. Being that his grappling is amazing he can do anything on the feet. Gonna be a huge star.
