They try Pereria but the lack of English killed the promotion side. Then he loses to Ankalaev which has no stardom. You had Izzy who was keeping you at float but he loses to Strickland and the which ultimately hurts your ddp fight you were building. In the mean time your left with Islam and volk they ran out of super fights and gave it a try it paid off huge. Which gives them a second Islam then KO him. An Islam is star in his own right he is loved and idol in Russia but just like khabib not as much here. I say all this to say they will not let Illia fight Islam till Islam goes wins 170 then defends vs a usman or someone with a following. They will also give Illia favorable matchups and while doing that they will put the OGs of 155 together to mask a couple fights for fans. Then they will make Islam come down to 155 to fight Illia. Beating Volk, Max and Charles is much different than beating Tony, Bobby, and Michael. Funny how people compare Ilia to Conor when in reality, Paddy is the Conor wannabe. Both came from Cage Warriors, both had an insane amount of hype when they first entered the UFC and both fought washed fighters to reach the top.
