Ya they've known each other for years. The camp they trained out of was called Miletich Fighting Systems under Pat Miletich. The good ole days back when Jens defended his lightweight title against BJ Penn and Robbie was getting knocked out by Nick Diaz.

This is so cool. Lawler is so comfortable with Jens that he opens up a lot more in his typical UFC interviews. You can tell how strong the bond between these guys are, growing up in the Miletich system back in the day.

Back in the day you could be better than anyone else in one thing and force your style upon your opponent. Nowadays the average level is so much higher, you must be way better at that particular skill and maintain a higher level of your other skills. Its the same evolution as in all other sports. In mma its just more difficult to spot trends in time, because its a sport that is extremely wide in the skill department. Hell look at football; defensive team, offensive team, special play team. Look for a guy whom plays in all 3... thats mma .
