No way. No one underrated him. This is one of the most complete fighters in the UFC and the organization and fans know it. His only losses came from Izzy and that's a matter of height disadvantage and styles not lack of skills. He has been ranked number 2 forever and was only recently displaced by Alex Pereira. With Alex moving up to Loght Heavyweight - Bobby Knuckles sits pretty solid at number 2 on the Middleweight Fanking even today.

Stipe came in way underweight to fight Francis. Stipe had done gotten used to DC strength and hits who he could get away with losing a few pounds on for more speed. It payed off in the trilogy. Stipe then made the mistake of thinking that speed would benefit him when facing Francis and it turned out to be a huge mistake as we all seen. He had no weight to step on his punches and Francis already has a stone chin to boot on top of it. Stipe was also too light to wrestle a 263 pound man. It was just a bad choice all around on Miocic part he should have atleast come in at 240-250 to fight a beast like Francis.

The dude cut something like 35lbs for the fight, he was like 210+ walking into that octogan, as far as statistics go people who typically miss weight by being over, are the fighters who win the night of the contest, so using that evidence we can deduce being the bigger guy DEFINITELY leans in your favor, but I think there should be a weight cut minimum, not just for the fighters overall health but to keep the competitive playing field more even than it currently is. Obviously Alex is a special case where he can cut significantly more weight and still be effective into the later rounds of combat, however as far as a general rule I feel a mitigation of how much weight you can cut would be healthy for the sports competitive integrity

Whitaker's style is definitely suited to handle Pereira. i really don't see Pereira beating Whitaker if he beats Paulo Costa for certain. Pereira's ground game is quite weak, and grappling isn't a skill u just pick up overnight 🤷‍♂️ This Will definitely be the time for contenders like Whitaker,Brunson, Vettori to begin making noises towards title shots as long as Dana hasn't fixed the rematch btw Izzy and Alex yet🤷‍♂️
