Actually, the translator is also Shavkhat's manager. He usually translates 99% of his interviews and other stuff, even social media posts. So, there is usually no "mistranslation", but rarely yeah I can see that Sayat translates Shavkhat's words into more polite version. Interesting moment: journalists ask questions in english, Sayat translates them into russian, but Shavkhat answers in kazakh language.

Here in Kazakhstan every Kazakh can speak Russian, it's our second main language. Heck, sometimes we speak Russian even more frequently than our native language, it's kinda national issue in the last century for us
