That fake uppercut into a straight right punch of his is so sneaky good! He acts like he's throwing an uppercut so the opponent just takes a small step back thinking they are safe and out of range, but then he changes the trajectory of his punch into a straight right which covers so much more ground and catches his opponent flush. What's terrifying about Sergei Pavlovich is the fact that he will engage anyone regardless of how good their stand up is. Very few people trade with Derrick Lewis. Pavlovich overwhelmed him. He's definitely the Russian version of Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou is more powerful, takes him just one punch and they all go to sleep
@BulldogFromHell
@BulldogFromHell Жыл бұрын
@@KingZi-d2f Ngannou isn't more powerful, at least not significantly enough to make a noticeable difference. He simply commits more to each punch. Sergei sacrifices 20% power for 30% more speed and precision. Because this: ''takes him just one punch and they all go to sleep'' is definitely not true about Ngannou. He landed massive fucking bombs on Stipe in that first fight and never scored a knockdown. He landed a literal stepping looping haymaker overhand right directly on Stipe's temple in the second fight while Stipe was 234 in there and Ngannou cut from 280 (literal 46lbs difference) and it did seemingly nothing. Wasn't until the head kick that Stipe got hurt. Ngannou's power is massive, but overrated. This idea that nobody can take a hit from him without going out cold is plain wrong and mostly originated from the fact that 90% of his opponents were longtime fighters whose chins had cracked. Cain and JDS are great examples. And in fact, neither of those two went out cold even from absolute bombs. He just TKO'd them.
@KhabibsJacuzzi

It's not a normal jab, it's a shovel jab/uppercut meaning you seem like you're jabbing but your fist is coming from low to high like an shoveling motion, you can reach really far with that punch and catch people unaware, Khabib and others used to use it too but obviously not with the same power behind it as a 260lb Sergei.

It's just a different type of power. We've seen this before in boxing with guys like Earnie Shavers, David Tua and some others. In MMA with Ngannou. All heavyweights hit hard. Pavlovich's secret is in the combination of power and precision. If you look closely, he does not have any KO where the opponent falls as stiff as a board, it is the volume of the blows together with an unusual power for that precision that makes his rivals bite the dust. Look at this video, he hardly misses a single hit! It seems like it drives them crazy but nothing could be further from the truth.

Just studying his KOs and is pretty clear what stands out is that he can throw powerful hooks and straight punched from such a distance while the opponent is not even close to be able to counter. If you look at the derrick lewis fight they were both swinging wildly with hooks, neither of them had head movement, they were stationary; yet Sergei was landing flush and derrick was missing by a mile away. They are both the same size but by look of it at how far he can throw a punch, Sergei has a huge reach advantage over most people.

Francis will annihilate pavlovich
@KingZi-d2f
@KingZi-d2f Жыл бұрын
If they both were to brawl in a fight, Francis sleeps him with additional brain damage. It takes Ngannou 1 punch not 2,3,4….His chin has never been cracked not even close to.

5:13 Pavlovich hits like a monster !!
@kintorey1195
@kintorey1195 Жыл бұрын

Connor uses that shovel uppercut as well. It’s a hard read because of the angle and straight line it follows rather than looping.

All his opponents complain about the stoppages after the refs save their brains from his sledgehammer like fist. Bring back Mario Yamazaki to ref for all Sergei fights, and see what they say afterward.

That uppercut is sneaky. It’s like Khabib’s jumping in rabbit punch but from the back hand so it has the power of a cross but looks like an uppercut
