@@MrDeathbydying That’s not the measure of a good stoppage. The fighter on bottom was making a lot of effort to get out of the position, refusing to let the position remain static. Any time a fighter looks like they are potentially escaping the position, the ref is hesitant to stop. And the shots were only moderately hard, so there wasn’t the urgency that exists with particularly powerful shots. Reasonable stoppage.

I actually think the stoppage was reasonable. The shots were only moderately hard, and the fighter was making a ton of effort to get out of the position, and they didn’t remain in one static position as he struggled. So there seemed like potential for him to get out.

100% MMA artificially exalts grappling. You can't grab the fence, you have to let them take you down, can't elbow their back, neck, or back of head, you have to let them take you down. Giving points for submission attempts is like giving points for missed punches; its absolute nonsense. It's great exercise, and learning the concepts are important, but I've trained with this crap, and when you void out the MMA protections for grapplers, no one wants to go to ground.
