He was made fun of and being called ‘pillow fists’ or ‘gatekeeper’, especially when he lost his first title opportunity fight against Chael Sonnen, and then to the first Luke Rockhold fight, heck even I lost potential in him at that point and felt disappointed that Bisping would never become a champ. Then the impossible just literally happened, why? Because he never gave up, he always had his warrior spirit invoked in him and kept believing in himself. Many other fighters give up easily and lose faith in themselves, but Bisping showed that he’s no sheep. Being British did not make him win the title, that was pure heart and desire. If it wasn’t for winning the championship I don’t think Bisping would have entered the HOF. Thats what makes it a perfect cinderella story.
