Mark my words. Time and generations to come will remember Ronda as a PAPER CHAMP who fought only CANS that fill her division. People have already started questioning Fedor's victories and that's ridiculous as Ronda is not even remotely as talented as Fedor. If that's the case then Ronda's victories are certainly dubious. Just 2 years ago Dana said that there are no women to build a division with and now he has 11 of them?? GTFOH with that shit. It's just to prop up Ronda as a champ. While we're at it, why not get Cyborg and make her the champ of the 145 pound division in that case? Oh because she doesn't have Ronda's looks and marketability. This sport is becoming more like WWE. SMH.
@CharmCityKingRulez11 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of what you said. But more so I believe Ronda will be a more solidified champ when she fights better competition. It doesn't have to division filled per sa. Just one or two heavy hitters to circulate with. That division has just one and the rest are duds for the most part. Lol now the hype is making Rousey sound like Mike Tyson and have the popularity of.... "Tiger Woods?" Lol. Smh.

There will be a rematch between Machida and Weidman without question. Disappointed for Machida because he could have won that fight and it seemed like he should have been more aggressive, but give credit to both fighters, it was a good match. But it isn't over, for either one. And I'm reluctant for Belfort, especially coming off of TRT at this point in his career.

Yeah, exactly. I felt like he stuck to the same plan in all three rounds (1st, 2nd and 3rd), which wasn't working. In the championship rounds, Weidman looked stunned... twice. But, Lyoto didn't go in. Weidman as well I felt that Lyoto was stunned, but... he didn't went for the kill. Either way, this fight shouldn't have ended in a decision.
@Implantsetc11 жыл бұрын
No rematch needed Weidman clearly won that fight - won rounds 1 2 3 5 - plus Machida is 36 he's not getting younger. Weidman is in his prime, a better fighter and is only gonna get better.

Lyoto looks like he got whipped!Now, he's in no-mans land (loss to Jones and Chris). Machida needs to learn how to fight every minute of every round. His point fighting/run in and run out style sucks. Give Machida to Anderson for a tune-up! Silva would mop the floor with him.

I don't understand the argument that Ronda is fighting cans, who is she supposed to fight? What's amazing is how much better she is than everyone else in the division. The only names I see get pulled up are Holly Holm, who has fought seven no-names, and Cyborg, who isn't even in her weight division and hasn't fought in a year.
@samh730311 жыл бұрын
Just because she is fighting the best they have to offer, doesn't mean she isn't fighting cans. She's fighting the best the women's division has to offer, a division which shouldn't even exist in the UFC.

I've never seen Machida as aggressive has he showed himself to be those last two rounds. Machida may have lost the fight but I think he will get a lot out of this and evolve into something great. As for Weidman, I have no choice but to accept him as a good champ for middleweight. He penetrated Machida's defense serveral times and left him bloodied. However, this also shows that Machida definitely can take some strikes.

@turtles661011 жыл бұрын
Arcee Genuine? So what is his real personality like? He isn't a douche bag(well outside of typical Champion arrogance), so who gives a shit about what he's really thinking? This whole "he isn't genuine" argument is just racism, point blank. You can't stand to see a Black man with confidence succeeding and trying to be a positive role model. He will be the best ever, even if that makes you uncomfortable. Might as well see the good in him and the positivity he portrays instead of constantly trying to make him the heel(bad guy). He isn't a bad guy. He is the good guy. He's a family man and a champion.
@NonsensicalTesticle11 жыл бұрын
I feel that way about Jon Jones more. It's impossible to dislike Jon Jones without being racist because he is literally God's gift to mankind and a miracle worker who heals sick children. Yeah, I get... I wonder how many black fight fans don't like Weidman, Klitschkos or GSP because they are white? Yeah, you think we don't see all of those thinly veiled (sometimes overtly) racist comments all of the time? I had to hear over and over again about how Tyron Woodley was going to murder Rory MacDonald because as a black man he had A-level talent and he was destined to be the next champion by God himself. Racists said that it should have been against the law to even sanction the fight because it was going to be such a mismatch and Rory's life was in imminent danger. How did that turn out? Gus wasn't supposed to even have a chance against Jones according to the nut-hugging racists. Jones looked like he was just pulled out of a drunk driving accident after the fight. He was coughing up blood afterwards, face and lips swollen for days, left on a stertcher and took months to recover from the barrage of shots landed. Every poll showed that the vast majority of fans believed Gus won that fight. This by a large margin. The vast majority of UFC fighters also believed that Gus won based on the reactions that were tweeted and compiled in articles. Yeah, Jones enjoyed a nice affirmative action decision this time. Everyone including Dana White knows that MMA judging has been horrendous lately. “..It kills my business,” UFC President Dana White complained last year. “People think that it's us. A lot of people aren't educated on the fact that the Nevada State Athletic Commission actually picks these people and allows them to keep judging fights....”

Great fighters recognize great talent. GSP on Weidman: "We had a good conversation," White said. "He 100 percent, absolutely, positively knows that Weidman is going to beat Anderson Silva. Anyway He will need it against weidman, as he is Bigger, Stronger, he's no slouch striking and he will only get better,and his wresting is superior, well and he's American =) He will send Belfort packing.

actually Rockhold will beat everyone and will be the next Champion... he won his last two fights without getting a scratch... He demolished Uriah Hall who was supposed to be the next Anderson Silva according to his bandwagon cult members. Then they said Chris didn't stand a chance against Anderson Silva whom he beat, not once but twice. Then they said Chris wasn't a true champion until he was tested against Machida. Now that Machida is bloodied up and out of the way it's on to Vitor and Jacare as the next supposed great hope. Just keep lining them up like lemmings because Chris will eventually lead them all over the edge of the cliff one by one. It's comical to see these fanboys stare at a list of fighters and simply replace one name with the next as they fall one after the other like dominoes. Better keep that list close because it's going to be a long and uncomfortable ride for you as we proceed in to the future.

Shikaku Nara That judge gave him round two. What did Machida do in the first three rounds besides run away? The other two judges had it right. Weidman had not a mark besides a bruised side which he did not even favor or protect throughout the fight.

I think he's got Machida figured out. Take a taller stance while cutting him off. Shotokan stances tend to be great for low and at a distance. The head-strikes are more powerful when the opponent is low since it has the whole body behind it and they're hard to see due to the linearity. If the opponent is willing able to take more body shots, then he can close. That's the only thing that kept players like Couture out since they're fighting as they would boxers, hunched up.

you're joking right? i mean you must be joking. Who else has outstruck lyoto? i don't even think jones outstruck machida... rua might have been close to outstriking him - however, that would be the word 'close' - the striking was NOT close in this fight... weidman delivered 2 strikes for every strike received... against lyoto... and considering the fact that lyoto is known as a stand up striker, and weidman has only been practicing stand up for 4 years - that's incredible. Weidman has now outstruck 2 of the greatest strikers in mma (silva, lyoto) - and it's where he's the most inexperienced... you fail to see any qualities? are you fucking blind?

Zingano got destroyed by Miesha for 95% of the fight, she will getting fucking destroyed. Cyborg has god awful technique and is all brute force, her Muay Thai fight showed how bad her technical skills really are, She would get demolished. How the fuck are you jealous fucks still finding ways to complain? It's not her fault she will fucking kill you!

it's like the case of Anderson Silva. his level was so different frmo the other that make the rest of division seemed like a bunch of cans ;~

Weidman seems like a classy dude. Very respectful, but says what he wants.

Machida needs to learn how to weight cut. I mean, he was an undersized light heavy and now he became a undersized middleweight...

Anyone notice the milk sponser on weidmans shorts? anyone think maybe its not a coincidence?

lmao, would be ironic if it was a Silva sponsor

They should do a rematch before Lyoto retires and if Weidman is still champ... Lyoto easily has one of the best and most unique style in the UFC. His early fights were some of the best I've seen, It was like watching the brazilian karate kid, haha.

Weidman is a well-rounded fighter who has great game plan, so it's hard to beat him by decision. But if he can knock out Silva, then other guys can knock him out too. The problem with Machida is that he simply wasted the first two rounds. He almost finished Weidman in the fourth, and in the end he just didn't have time. Look at the last 20 seconds when he stormed over Weidman. That might be the only way to dethrone Weidman.

im officially a weidman believer and he is such a great dude too

Weidman is a great champ and still on the learning curve, Rousey is so very focused, she is scary and I hope retires undefeated. I have always thought the world of Lyoto, and thought he would beat Weidman, now I know better.

if machida boxing was as good as his kicks i think we would of saw a different fight, weidman use the shogun blueprint forward persure aggressive strikes, was a good fight cant wait to see vitor vs weidman

That's just how Weidman fights. Always pushing the pace and being aggressive.

I was worried about this fight for Weidman. Machida's mobile but doesn't clown around. I was surprised how well Weidman handled him. So - it's the end of the road for Machida. And Weidman's opponents have to start thinking hard about him.

Is Weidman implying he didn't lose round 4? What a fight though..awesome. I'd still like to see Weidman vs Belfort also.

Machida could have won that fight if he started throwing more earlier. Still definitely proved to me that Weidman is a beast. Definitely worthy of the belt. Would love to see him fight Rockhold or Jacare (or Machida again!)

I am so sick of hearing about Rousy. I hate paying for women's fights. There is a reason people don't watch the WNBA.

No one asked Davis what she remembered after the fight. Anything? What did she say to the ref?

IT'S THE FIRST time Lyoto's counter everything style, strategy, whatever, has been neutralized by a fighter. He just couldn't respond. It shows how great Weidman is. However, Machida was able to expose to the world Weidman's weaknesses which is dangerous for Weidman now. Those last 10 seconds were very telling. Both are my top favorite fighters anyway.
