On episode #4 of UFC 178 Embedded, Fight Week in Las Vegas is in full swing as the fighters juggle media duties, training and relaxing. Debuting lightweight Eddie Alvarez gets his bearings inside the heart of the MGM Grand Garden Arena, while his opponent Donald Cerrone prefers to get away from it all by staying at an RV park. Featherweight Dustin Poirier window-shops in the dessert aisle; back at the hotel, Conor McGregor watches the Embedded episode from the previous day and is delighted to see that he's gotten under his opponent's skin. UFC Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog series focusing on the days leading up to the UFC 178 Pay-Per-View event headlined by the flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso on Saturday, September 27th.

Never seen a world class fighter so laid back and have this "whatever, i dont give a f^^^" attitude especially on fight week like Cowboy. Then again I guess he's like that through out the year. Cool stuff. Hope we'll see a great fight like he anticipates

He reverted back to that attitude after his loss to RDA... He said that he was taking things too serious and that he had to go back to his old self and that is when he started to win fights... And has led to him going on this amazing run... So I guess that attitude he has adopted is actually really working for him and his career.

Clev Eland I doubt that is why he lost to RDA and that is why he is winning now. RDA was just a better fighter and no number of RVs or wakeboards on fight week would change that. And the same goes for those other 4 guys he beat, hes's just a better fighter.

jlziux He's STATED this himself in an interview as that being the reason why he lost to RDA... He stated that he was NOT fighting like himself and ended up losing the fight b/c of that... Had he prepared, and relaxed during that preparation (or training) and fought RDA in the manner WE know that Cowboy could perform, I would not doubt for a minute that Cowboy takes the fight 90% of the time.

Clev Eland I'm sure he did :) I just don't agree. He just got outperformed that night by a superior skillset. He is a great fighter though and who knows what would happen if they fought again.

Wow, on the Yahoo Sports reporter. This is a young, vibrant and growing sport, and YS sent along the oldest, fatest man they could find. I loved it when Iole said, "You really are into all this (outdoor) stuff." It demonstrates how little he knows about DC. Anyone who follows the UFC knows "Cowboy" is a real cowboy is an avid outdoors-man. YS should rebrand as Sports Yahoos.

The dude is a legit fighter. He takes Martial Arts pretty serious. If you look at his fight style you know he will be the better of Poirier. Mcgregor has insane technical boxing, a whole arsenal of spinning kicks et cetera. Saying Poirier has the better wreslting or groundgame is a fluke 2. Mcgregor has a very underrated groundgame he trains with Gunnar Nelson every fightcamp that dude is a legit fighter on the ground. Many people also forget its a business. talking smack sells fights and a fighter as a person Conor is aware of this and exploits this very well. I really dont know why the dude gets so much hate. If Cub Swanson for example would start smacktalking everybody would love him because it's Cub. lol Conor will prove he's not here to take part,but to take over!

Cerrone seems like one of the nicest, most laid back, comfortable guys I've seen. He sort of reminds me of Henderson where they walk around as if they don't have a care in the world. On the other hand, Connor will be poor a few years after retiring if he's really living this bling like lifestyle.

I’m not a UFC follower, I only follow Conor’s fights because he is a character. I get why people like & hate him. Not only is he a very good fighter & athlete, but he’s a business man, he gets people interested in his fights. As for Dustin, he seems like a good guy, but he admitted himself that Conor is getting under his skin “I never disliked an opponent as much..”. Does Dustin not see that that is Conor’s game. Conor wants him to be mad in the ring, to fight with emotion rather than a cool head. The talk is almost over, may the best fighter win.

John Moran You know I kind of have to agree about Gunnar being partially hype... He is talented yes no less... However, he is NOT any where near as being the type of fighter people have pegged him as being... He will have a good future in the UFC... BUT he will not be a champion... His last fight in Ireland... He was getting dominated on the feet and looked a bit perplexed... It wasn't until he got the fight to the ground and got his opponents back did he capitalize and win the bout... If you place him against a fighter w/ an equally deadly MMA ground game and better striking (Pyle, Condit). Or a fighter w/ a better ground game (Maia)... Or a fighter w/ great striking and good TDD (Saffiedine, Hendricks, Lombard) Gunnar would lose the fight 9 times out of 10.

Clev Eland I think you're underestimating his ground game. The way he moves on the ground is crazy and he never loses if he gets anyone on the ground. And he's got a very good striking technique, he gets the shots in but is not overdoing it, just the right amount, he just waits and is patient. He's cold as ice and has a calm mind all the way through. But then again we can only see through fights who is right.

rambololal Albeit, yes ALL of that is true so far... But that is b/c he has NOT faced competition the likes of which I have mentioned above... If he were to fight Maia and took it to the ground who do you think would have the advantage and would win in that fight??? If he were not able to get the fight to the ground and had to stand and strike w/ Lombard, Saffiedine who do you think would win in a stand up fight??? If he were to meet a fighter who could mix it up and cancel out his ground game like Condit or Pyle who both have better striking skillsets who do you think would win??? Gunnar is good and he has a bright future... However, he is not the second coming of the MMA elite fighter as most people have built him up as being...

You know something I don't get the UFC fans who hate interesting fighters. You get a fighter like Ronda Rousey who is a bad ass hot woman snapping peoples arms and you will get people who hate her and want her to loose. Or you get freak athletes like Jon Jones dismantling people in exiting fashion and kicking all kinds of ass and people hate him. Then you get the people who dare to be different, who have a character or personality they become famous for, people who talk smack and hype fights with style like Connor or Sonnen....and people hate em. Lets not miss out a commentator like Joe Rogan calling out moves perfectly and adding character to the ufc............"Who died and made him expert" people say, "I'm sick of hearing him say rocked". Then you have the head guy, the guy who made it all possible Dana white, the man the internet will have you believe knows nothing. No, what people want is bland boring fighters who thank Jesus, shake hands and tell us it's gonna be a war and that they are doing this for their family........... as they push guys up against the cage. If you loose all of these fighters you would have no show, go ahead never watch any of these guys fight again and see how you enjoy the show. Watch a post fight interview that Dana isn't at.....trust me you will be in for a shock how bad things can get without these people you love to insult and wish were gone.
