On Episode 4 of UFC 189 Embedded, headliner Chad Mendes trades the gym for a pool to test his endurance in the week before his featherweight title fight. His opponent Conor McGregor enjoys a poolside massage and adds a few unexpected weapons to his arsenal. Plus, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and challenger Rory MacDonald do some final prep at home for their championship rematch. UFC Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog leading up to the championship doubleheader at UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor, taking place Saturday, July 11 on Pay-Per-View.

I admit that he might very well have a chance of losing to Mendes but that inconclusivness is because of the unknown - Nobody knows what McGregor is capable of against wrestlers because we haven't seen him fight one in the octagon yet - He might very well may have evolved into a takedown defense mastermind in his recent developments. For everyone moaning about how these are way too short I feel like you are unaware of a few things. Firstly, this stuff was filmed on Friday...FRIDAY JUST GONE BY!!! The Embedded team shot, edited and uploaded this within TWO FRIGGIN DAYS! I dont know anyone else who does that; its an awesome look into what these athletes go through on a day to day basis. Secondly, if they were to make these longer it means we would get them less frequently and they wouldnt be AS current, meaning they would have to collect more footage which would take longer to edit. SO everyone PLEASE appreciate the Embedded filmmakers they are awesome. Keep doing what you are doing guys!

I'm not as excited about this card now that Jose Aldo pussed out. That being said, The UFC needs to start an injury-free bonus in which they will give every top 15 fighter in every weight class a sizable bonus if they stay healthy and don't miss fights. Money talks and this is sure to make sure that fighters train smart and this will cut down drop outs which have plagued the promotion.

Dana should of never said Mendas will fight if Aldo does not. Once Aldo heard that he wanted to see how Conor would do VS Mendas, because he was scared. They made up that story Spinning heal kick from a new training partner LMFAO. Now Aldo won't even talk to the media. He is hiding in Brazil and hoping Conor loses so he can retire and say I would of beat him, he lost to Chad and I beat Chad twice or he's doing this to try in size Conor up?

You know... I figured I would watch some of Mendes's fights to see what all the fuss is about his wrestling and I have to say... I'm not that impressed at all. People make him out to be some DC level wrestler, but he is far from it. He is more of a lay and pray with unimpressive top control type of wrestler. Even if he takes McGregor down I can't see him holding him there.

so funny that Urijah isnt helping Chad at all by saying Conor has no power and has just enough wrestling to get himself in trouble. What is funny is they watched the siver fight. The one fight where McGregor just went right at him straight on with no angles because he didnt need them. With Mendes he is going to shoot angles and destroy him.

not many people are commenting on the card for obvious reasons but holy shit. after the first 3 fights every fighter on the card is well known. remove the main and co-main and you've got a stacked fox1 card. gunnar is imo one of the guys to watch over the next year. with WW as stacked as it is its crazy to say anyone will be champ but gunnar is gonna blow everyone away next few fights. thatch is a beast and watch what gunnar does to him. matt brown is well matt brown so thats all you have to say but tim means is a way tougher guy than people realize i guess, judging from the writers. could be one of those all time fights. mike swick is older now and could never be what he was before he got sick but this guy was as exciting in his prime as anyone else in history. laser accuracy and speed with his hands and back in the developmental days had that swick-o-tine choke that was the end for whoever fucked up and allowed him to get anywhere near it. hate to say it but even with 4 straight wins pendred' ufc future is gonna be in doubt after the vicious beating howard is gonna heap on him. jeremy stephens is probably in alot of trouble facing bermudez after dennis' last fight. co-main and main event are total pick'ems, i wouldnt bet a dime on either one.
