Back at the host hotel, featherweight title contender Chad Mendes goes incognito by getting dressed to the onesies. Then all eyes turn to the massive, record-setting UFC 189 weigh-in. Tempers flare on stage and behind the scenes as headliner Conor McGregor gets heated with both his opponent and Mendes’ teammate, Urijah Faber. First spinning kick to the gut hurt Mendes. More body strikes caused him to gas and then go for takedowns. Yes, Mendes is the superior wrestler but never really did much except the elbow and even Conor laughed at that. Mendes knew that he couldn't deal with the stand up and Conor laughed at his hardest strikes! The next round, those body kicks Conor threw in the 1st had already gassed Mendes and he was badly hurt, so in the 2nd he went for the gullitine, which showed Conor's amazing Ju-Jitsu skills (which people underrate) making it go back to the feet. Another few kicks to the gut and Mendes dropped his hands to protect from the next and in that split second, right hook, straight left and Mendes crumbles on the floor. Herb Dean knew he was finished; Mendes looked finished from the 1st exchange in the fight and those body kicks hurt him badly. He never recovered from that. No fix here, Mendes made a mistake in not just keeping top position but he wanted to finish, as those body strikes had him fucked up... Conor wins!

When a man cuts 25lbs for a fight it's sure to take a toll on your body of course, On weigh-in day I know from experience shedding weight is a dreadful experience you feel drained with a lack of energy but I was only shedding in and around 5-10lbs for a man who shed 25lbs to have that sort of energy is unheard of he might just be the weight cutter in the business, he will bulk up and re-hydrate and will be raring to go at 155lbs that's 10lbs higher than his weigh in he always looks great come fight night, these MMA bandwagon fans haven't got a clue and that Faber interference was stupid he thought he was brave to a man who just is walking around 30lbs under his optimum weight we all know Mac would shit on Faber READY FOR WAR #TEAMMAC

The thing that's being overlooked here is how easily this fight could've gone the other way, and this is coming from a massive Conor fan. Mendes proved that he can not only take Conor down at will, but also that he can keep him on the ground and consistently land big elbows. If he wanted to, he could've pulled a 'GSP' and spent all five rounds on top of Conor for a decisive win on the score cards. If it's any constellation, he's at least earned my respect for having the dignity to give us a fight, he certainly didn't have to.

abeeftec Well from what we all saw here, Conor patted him on the head, Faber teased his weight/physique, Conor attempted a grappling move, Faber pushed him against the wall and Conor took exception to it. If you listen to the sound on their instagram, clearly Conor dished it but could not take it.

What an unprofessional Urijah Faber is! Both teams are on seperate sides of the building, so Urijah 'hanging' around Conor's dressing room was intentional. He knew Conor would react and talk trash, that is the point. The whole 'wrestling' thing was softcore, as Conor was messing about. It is only when Urijah pushed him back that Conor upped the stakes. He is going through a weightcut and anyone would be easily aggrievated. I totally lost respect for Faber with this act. Does Mendes and his teammates need to do stupid shit before a fight to the challenger just because they somehow fear his skills. Mendes and Conor are both talented fighters. This bullshit on the part of the 'Alpha Male' team has just blackened what is a great contest.
