Greatest PPV ever. If anybody hasnt seen UFC 189 they have to. UNREAL atmosphere with Mcgregor's 1st title fight and every main card fight had wild finishes including multiple flying knee KOs and one of greatest fights of all time with Lawler-McDonald.

I would respectfully disagree ufc 217 was better ppv in my opinion there were literally three different champions and all were finishes plus gsp returned and got a second belt that I think is the greatest ufc ppv ever

Ruthless Rob was amazing in his prime, banger after banger in his title fights. Fight of the Year 2014 vs Hendricks, 2015 vs MacDonald and 2016 against Condit. All HOF worthy fights, its no wonder why fans missed him when Tyron Woodley was champion.

The rise of McGregor, was one of the best things to happen in professional sports ever. It was one hell of a ride to live through. This card along with Conor’s delivery and crowning moment, was just special.

People are so quick to discount what Conor represented to the sport at this time, when Dana says he had a “mythical” quality, Conor quite literally had talked the most shit out of anyone in all of combat sports, an obscene amount, but had laced it with specific predictions of what he’d do to his opponents and delivered every. single. time.

@@douevenlift9147 he IV rehydrate to make 145, cheating the scale to be bigger. Aldo was a lucky punch and everyone knows that's why he didn't rematch. Holloway wasn't ranked. Silver was ranked just to get Connor a win over a ranked name. Mendez was short notice. He got choked by Diaz and khabib and was cheating in both fights by grabbing the gloves shorts cage etc... Alvarez had been rocked in every fight, his chin was putty another tailor made fight for Connor which he didn't defend the belt and held up the division losing terribly to Floyd Mayweather. Face it, his rise was protected he cheated anyway he could and he doesn't have a resume worthy of any of this goat talk. He got rich by losing a boxing match and selling whiskey. Fucking joke

It was insane. Craziest rise to stardom ive ever seen. Nobody had ever even won a fight from Ireland before him. He was a good striker but nobody expected him to be great. People laughed when he said he would win 2 titles. Then he just kept KOing every single guy in stunning fashion just as he said until he finally got to Aldo where people okay now he has to lose its fucking Aldo. And yeah ...

I think everybody watching mcgregor fight back then had the same reaction: "damn, just how good is he?!?!". I think he was years ahead of everybody else in the game, people just couldn't figure him out, really changed the sport, until the rest of the roaster catch up to him.

It if wasnt a title fight and Lawler i think some would have stopped it but whenever Big John told Lawler to fight back Lawler made sure to start fighting back. Lawler did a good job staying in the fight and Big John made right call to let it go.
