My heart dropped when he ask where were his coaches. Johnson is at the moment the best MMA fighter at Blackzillans and for them to leave him like that is disloyalty. I don't care how frustrated you are that's no excuse to walk off because he lost.

Donovan Hunt Ronda didn't listen to Edmund lmao
@mvpmvp38618 жыл бұрын
Donovan Hunt I do know what it's like to coach some one that doesn't listen. It's like speaking to a brick wall, but at the end of the day if his coaches truly cared they would not leave him alone like that in front of thousands. At the end of the day Johnson made a choice and acted the way he did because of something deeper than just wanting to wrestle and make it a "fixed" fight. Regardless of what's being said I believe the smoke hasn't been cleared yet of why he decided to do what he did. There's coaches that will be with there fighter's through thick and thin and there will be some that are in it solely for the money and promoting themselves. Johnson and Rashad are a staple of that gym and should be respected as such.
@Robin-kp1nv8 жыл бұрын
No wonder Rashad, Overeem, Vitor etc..... all left that shit team. Terrible team.
@mvpmvp38618 жыл бұрын
First Last He fought to lose? He broke DC's nose in the beginning exchanges. He's a coward? How about you have a former Strikeforce Heavyweight, Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Olympic Wrestler on your back and see how it goes. Johnson probably came in with the mindset that he wanted to try things in the cage that he may have the last opportunities doing. Maybe he did want a free check. At the end of the day it's Johnson's life and all of the pussies out there calling him a coward are just unconfident losers who hope to get paid half a million in 7 minutes. I'm sure he could care less about somebody he doesn't even know.

Here’s what happened. Anthony Johnson KNEW he was retiring after this fight. Win or lose. Well, maybe if he won and he got offered ALOT of money he would have stayed but I don’t know if he would have stayed. He had the marijuana business going for him and he knew he could make a lot of money and not have to fight. In his octagon interview he literally said he never liked fighting and getting hurt. He was just good at it. One of his coaches walked out of the octagon after the fight because he even knew that AJ gave up the fight. Sucks but it’s the truth. It would have been great to see AJ keep the fight on the feet but he just wanted to get out of there.

This will always be one of the few MMA moments that really tugs at my heart. Not just the retirement but more so how clearly hurt by the loss he is but still struggles to keep it together and say how grateful he is. “I enjoyed you joe...” ....😩

Rumble Corner Audio Transcript: Round 1 Voice: Take your time. Nice. Take your time. Don’t take him down. Hooft: Don’t wrestle him. Voice: If you’re going to go, go single. Hooft: You don’t have to wrestle him, AJ. Just relax. Voice: Don’t wrestle him. Hooft: Get out of there. Get out of there. Grappling coach Neil Melanson: OK, stud. Now, let’s get your hands hot. Voice: Why is he wrestling him? Hooft: This is stupid. Voice: Why is he wrestling him? Hooft: (Expletive) it, man. Just get off the cage. Voice: Get out of there. Voice: Why isn’t he listening? (Johnson and Cormier are broken up by referee John McCarthy, and Johnson lands kicks.) Voice: He’s tired already, DC. He doesn’t need to do this. Voice: Why isn’t he listening? Hooft: I don’t know why he’s doing that. We have no (expletive) eyes. Break between Round 1 and Round 2 Hooft: Can you tell me why you’re wrestling? Now, you’re not going to wrestle. You take your distance. Stay away, two steps away. Why are you so worried about everything? The kicks and the knees are really good, but no kicks. Where’s your hands? Voice: You’re doing great. Don’t (expletive) wrestle him. Hooft: If you stand your distance, it’s an easy game. Why make it difficult? Round 2 Hooft: Movement. Athletic. Movement. That’s it. Take your distance. (Johnson reverses against the cage and goes for another takedown) Hooft: You need distance. Hooft: I’m not saying nothing. (Cormier has Johnson on the mat and is setting up a choke) Hooft: It’s going the same as last time. (Johnson submits to Cormier via rear-naked choke) Hooft: Why, why the (expletive) does this happen every (expletive) time, man? Crazy.

It all make sense now why rumble didn't accept the interim title fight at 206. And then now he didn't say anything about dc towel trick as well as initiating the grappling. After the Glover fight, he already has decided that fighting dc for the belt will be his last fight.

"Rumble did the amazing gameplan" What give up. He didn't even touch DC gloves during the choke. DC just gabbed his head and slipped it in. Glad I didn't pay for this PPV.

Why Rumble? WHY DID YOU TRY TO OUTWRESTLE DC?!!
@ramonvargas68658 жыл бұрын
TNF I think he thought that wrestling was all he needed it to win for the rematch, however, Dc was also training hard to counter anything thst rumble would throw at him....Im not surprised the fight ended in the same way....Jon Jones better watch out, this D.C. is 38, but he has improved and has been a little more active thsn Jones.....

As much as I love Rumble, this really pissed me off. He did not try or fight to his strengths during the fight, he played right into Cormier's fight plan. Then he retires unexpectedly - it was clear that's why he didn't give it his all. He could have won easily and have the greatest sending off he could've asked for, but he just doesn't care anymore
@supremeclientele838 жыл бұрын
