in the UFC, JDS has only lost to Cain, who is considered by many to be one of the best heavyweights of all time, and Overeem, who is the most decorated striker in the heavyweight division, there's not much of a reason to think his chin is gone

I'm not saying it's gone for sure, but I do believe there's reason to think it's suspect. In both those fights with Cain, he took an insane amount of damage, and Alistair was able to finally turn his lights off. JDS is always dangerous, and could easily win the rematch again, but there's no denying he has ate a lot of heavy shots throughout his career. That's also not mentioning that Stipe's last 5 wins have all come by (t)ko. He seems to be one a roll right now.

What were JDS' opponents after that second fight with Cain? Hunto, Cain, Stipe, Overeem, and Rothwell - JDS beat Hunto and didn't get knocked out by the knockout artist. Then JDS fought Cain again, after 5 rounds of straight-up pressure he was tko'd by someone who a lot of people call one of the best heavyweights of all time, after that he fought Stipe in what was essentially a boxing match and beat him by decision, even though Stipe already had a lot of knockouts on his record. After that JDS fought Overeem, the most decorated striker in the heavyweight division and got knocked out - by the most decorated striker in the heavyweight division - and there's no shame in that. After that, he fought and defeated Rothwell by decision if JDS had lost to Ben then you could be reasonable questioning his chin, but at the moment, JDS' only 2 losses in the UFC are to one of the best heavyweights of all time and to one of the most decorated heavyweight strikers of all time, I get that Stipe's been (t)ko'ing people for awhile but that means you should talk about Stipe and his power, not that you should question Junior's chin as there's not much of a reason to do so. And yeah, I get the whole "taking damage" thing but it hasn't affected him yet so I don't care

I'm also not saying his chin is shot, like you've said, he has faced dangerous strikers as of late. I don't think it's unfair at all to make the claim that JDS has taken a lot of damage in his career as of late though. He's an absolute warrior. I mean the way he fought through both his fights with Cain shows he has the heart of a lion. It's just an observation of the amount of punishment one fighter has taken in the hardest hitting division and the amount of punishment his opponent has been able to inflict. With all that said, JDS is obviously still very dangerous in his own right. I'm by no means saying this fight is a given for Stipe. He also ates some heavy shots against Alistair and was able to come back from it. Hopefully this is a great fight.
