Daniel is 38 and Silva is 42.. Jon Jones is 30.. WAY bigger age gap.. not to mention your body is really at its prime in your mid 20's. Also not to mention, that Jon Jones has destroyed Stephan Bonnar, Ryan Bader, Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort.. Jones destroys people that are "unstoppable". If it wasn't for 1 illegal elbow, Jones would have a perfect record and would undeniably be the best pound-for-pound mma fighter of all time.
@JoshLavian7 жыл бұрын
He didn't "wreck" anyone. Silva took the fight on a day or two's notice, and Cormier had trained for weeks to fight the greatest of all time in the lead up. With that as background, he should have disemboweled Silva in such a circumstance, and I'm saying that as a Cormier fan.

Ray Chan im so happy for him this interview and jones tested positive was the best thing to ever happen to him. People started respecting daniel finally
@A_RayChan_Joint6 жыл бұрын
I never quite understood before this fight why people didn't respect DC in the first place. His wrestling/strikeforce credentials, and his fights against top guys like Rumble who was killing everyone in that division, and Gus who gave DC a really hard fight of endurance and will was enough to show you that DC was a true Champion. The whole Jones thing is blurry, on one hand I believe that Jones stylistically is just better than DC, due to just Jones talent and knowledge of using his physical attributes. On the other hand testing positive twice and outside activities which has major effect on Jones title defense and the business makes Jones' record and reputation tainted. So DC might be the better champion(x2), but Jones is the better fighter imo. The media paints a weird narrative of the two, DC is the fat guy with dad jokes, but very professional, most of the time seen as the underdog. Jones is the GOAT, unbeatable, Micheal Jordan of MMA but self destructive and self sabotaging. People can choose what they like, and choose to ignore what they don't. We want underdogs to succeed, but we also want Gods to bleed. Seeing DC in tears, after all that hard work and self belief just to end in a head kick I think relates to us on a human scale, seeing DC winning the heavyweight championship in spectacular fashion, a year later jumping on the stool to sit on the fence with two belts with the biggest smile on his face. That's life.

ManUnitedZone - Disagree. As a Jones fan, I've always had respect for Daniel. Seeing another man fail doesn't make me want to respect someone else more. I think only shitty people do that. I don't know where you get off exactly but thats not how I feel about respect. Respect is earned. Any fighter (even Daniel) I respect for putting their all on the line to persue a passion. Daniel earned my respect for just being there, not his opponent finding a small window of opportunity to cheat/do drugs. Honesty, respect, kindness, dedication, discipline, responsibility, courage, and just compassion for other people. Is what YOU Should look for in order to respect another person. Remember, nobody's flawless. Jones flaws should not change your perspective on any fighters.. Whether they're good or bad.

With respect to DC problem is he is 38. I am a Jones fan but DC should not have been interviewed after this fight. Total disrespect, i am also a Rogan fan but he made a bad mistake. As a regular person you just cant understand why people never interview fighters after a knockout. Fighters hold the persona of being tough guys, but usually fighters are very emotional people with a history of personal battles in their past. It takes a different breed of human being to get hit in the face for a living. TRUST ME. With respect to DC, Jones is the Champ and rightfully should be. DC put up a great fight and was winning in my opinion, but in a fight its Bell to Bell and DC got rocked and finished. I feel for this man, tough spot all around. Much Respect!

I know we all are mma fans here but fighting isn't specials. "Shit happens" in every sport and everything in life. Even in your laying in the bed doing nothing, Shit can still happen.

Luxuria Avaritia hell ya i mean if you have a ceiling fan above your bed and your laying down and it fallz and landz on your nutss ouch... Or if your laying down in bed eating chips and a gust of wind comes thru window and your chip bag goes flying.. Ouch

Until you have lived the life of a fighter, until your have defended your title over and over again, until you dedicate your training to defeat your greatest adversary, until you have put all your effort and emotion into winning and still come up short, don't you dare insult this man for crying and losing.Hate him or love him Cormier did what he was suppose to do and that's fight like a champion.
@user-jm4zi3bu6k7 жыл бұрын
qb87the It was the things he said to jones outside of the ring that cause people to hate him. He definitely wasn't just promoting the fight. He kept attacking Jones personal life.
@qb87the7 жыл бұрын
Shadow Malak I agree both of their actions outside the ring were terrible I'm not refuting that. If only both would've been more humble outside the ring. In competitive fighting people will do what they can to get an edge over their opponent (insult, going to social media, interviews, drugs, etc.). The reason I said what I said was because people shouldn't consider Cormier a paper champion. If that's the case why was his reign as champion for two years. He defeated the best to keep the title but this time he came up short against a more superior fighter. In my opinion in competitive fighting especially at this level egos are going to flare up but the legitimacy and skills of a fighter should not be question at this level of the sport.

You know it's really sad that you're speaking in a very immature manner. Instead of having a decent conversation you want to speak or should I say type like someone with no respect. And the funny part about all of this is that in the real world you would never talk like that around your friends and family. So you figured you could get away with it online. You've just showed me that you know nothing about fighting, you know nothing about MMA, just an individual who gets vile when someone has a different opinion from yours.

Legit think the fact jon jones praised cormier after the fight twisted the knife. The moral high ground was the only thing he had left
@Kllerkungfuwlfbtch7 жыл бұрын
Lukman DC was playing mind games with a sociopath..and at the end, Jon not only beat him, he praised his enemy and in people's eyes DC will always be the sore loser who couldn't take a loss like a man...Jones broke DC entirely !!😂😂😂

Stop over-analyzing jon's comments. What he said is what every champion should say after winning. You know in the end it was a good fight, DC landed, he closed the gap effectively, but in the end look at the size difference. Too bad though, noone in the 205 div that would be interesting for jones. I don't think gustaffson is a good match at this point.
@youtubered81387 жыл бұрын
adasfasd asdasfasd you sheep. You don't see the sadistic psycho in jones. He said that to pour fuel on the fire. It's a not so idiot proof way of saying ur the better at the rest but I'm the alpha. The man broke down. But yr the sheep for a reason.
