Derpy McDerpster I will say imo people are probably watching ufc more since it’s the only sport now that hasn’t gone woke. I never watched basketball seriously but I don’t watch it at all now since it’s more about being woke then playing basketball. Same with football. I’m tired of politics in sports and I’m sure there’s a lot of people out there that think the same. I can’t get myself to pay that $60 for ppv tho they need to get rid of that model.

Those leg kicks discouraged Costa to even come in close, Izzy turned it into a kickboxing match which was terrible for Costa. He has 100 kickboxing fights 4x Cruiser, Middle, and hes a Heavy weight kickboxing champion.

Honestly think the pressure got to Costa. He seemed nervous and shook, something you never usually see from the eraser. Still believe he‘s one of the best ufc fighters out there rn and I genuinely hope he learns from his mistakes instead of crumbling down. Izzy is as consistent as the milk man. Costa gave him the PERFECT fight for his style, people should know noone is beating Izzy in a classic kickboxing standoff. Really wanted Costa to win, and even tho I don‘t like him as a person he‘s an incredible fighter.

@@Steel_Body1 Adesanya did not underestimate Yoel's power and counterpunching ability. Didn't even care about the boos they werd receiving for a lack of activity. Costa thought that if a smack from Yoel is gonna send Israel running, then he is no match for Costa's barbaric hands don't care approach. But Yoel had technique and discipline, something the Eraser lacked or couldn't use in a high pressure situation. That's why Izzy easily pieced him out. Honestly, I wanted Costa to pull off a Rocky Balboa upset. Glad I didn't bet for the fight.

That's because of Izzy's last fight. Conor may have lost fights but he never stopped engaging in a fight like Izzy did. Also Conor brings in a lot of money. And Khamzat is a beast for fighting at two divisions and fighting that often. So both Khamzat and Conor are better for Dana than Izzy is.

For the people saying costa fought weird and are confused. Adesanya picked him apart. He bit every feint, costa respected his strikes, Izzy stayed on the outside, didn’t fall for the taunts, has the height, reach, experience, knowledge/fight IQ and really put on a clinic. Costa was not tired, costa was not intimidated, he was simply an amateur compared to Izzy. This was a white belt vs black belt in kick boxing. If you dislike adesanya because “he’s not humble”, at least be humble yourself and acknowledge izzys skills and not blame it on weak excuses like costa had jet lag.

My uneducated opinion is that Costa should work on checking kicks, maybe work on staying outside and countering or something. He spent alot of time in the pocket without any output. It's not as easy as I make it sound but Israel is so well rounded and confident and smart that it's going to take someone even more well rounded and confident and smart to take that belt. There really are levels to the fight game.

Probably underestimated his leg kick and Israel's counteractive punches. Whitaker found that out in his fight too. Grzegorz Krzosek - 15 fights in the last 8 years in the ufc with 2 losses to wonderboy and izzy with the wonderboy loss being nearly seven years ago, one is ranked 8 and the other is the current dominant champ. I’m pretty sure uriah hall is classed to be an elite striker, especially 5 years ago when he beat him and his last win was over till who is consistently a top 5 fighter who pretty much does nothing but strike. I know he’s said a few weird things but i think maybe you’ve fallen into the classic trap of seeing a champ get ko’d and suddenly started thinking they are past it.

I just noticed that his lunching forward style to deal some damage doesn't work to well against good counter punchers and fighting this way he always take some damage himself. If he would fight different more clinch maybe some ground and pound I see him winning otherwise it will be hard.

Costa tried everything against Israel and realized he was too fast to make it work like he thought, he charged in...adesanya dodged immediately, he threw strikes...didn’t land at all, so the only thing left is takedowns. Good luck with actually grabbing him to take him down you can’t catch a ‘skinny’ ghost. He got knocked down from a swift kick to the face and a flurry of strikes and ground and pound. Great fight 🔥❤️😄

I remember the beginning ufc years and always thought of Dana as someone to have to deal with in order to get these fights. But seeing how he handled John Oliver's comments taking it in strides, plus acknowledging Adesanya, plus the initiative to make something happen while quarantined with minimal(as far as i know) damage to those involved. I don't know, making me look at this guy differently. maybe there is a soul here...

I think costa didnt put so much pressure because he was neutralized pretty quickly. To stop a puncher to fire at you you gotta stop their footwork. How you do that? Leg kicks. Adesanya is so smart. Costa is tough as nails tho he ate so many big shots

I think Dana shows a tremendous amount of heart for the fighters nearing the end of their careers and in dangerous territory so to speak. A department in the ufc dedicated to compare fights/ clips of fighters moves shots taken/given comparison (early on to the end) privately shown to the fighters... something/ would really be appropriate in my mind to show respect to the fighter and avoid quality of life issues in the future- the sport is so entertaining yet nobody wants to see fighters really hurt- especially those loved ones...

Super disappointed in how the Costa and Adesanya fight went. I think I can speak for most (whether you are an Izzy fan or a Costa fan) I wanted to see a full out war and it could have gone like that if Costa would've have stopped mocking and actually focused on the fight. How do you tell a guy to meet you in the middle when he keeps chewing your lead leg and then you land one punch when you have KO power. Congrats to Adesanya on being 20-0
