Hes my favorite fighter seen his rise, his injuries and set backs. When he beat Johnson at UFC 205 I knew 100% khabib would be the champion and maybe the best LW ever. Back then he was a nobody to the ufc, his title shot was robbed from him by mcgregor. To think now in 2020 Khabib is p4p no.1, 29-0, a massive star around the world and beat mcgregor with the highest ppv ever of 2.4m is just such an amazing thing. He's a middleweight in a lightweight body

No, he's just been fighting in one of the weakest divisions in the UFC. Think about it; look at every other division, the diversity of wrestlers, jiu jitsu specialists and strikers, how well rounded these guys are. Then look at Khabib's opponents; mostly strikers, one or two D2/3 wrestlers with his ONLY elite wrestling competitor being absolutely clueless with jiu jitsu. Look at the bantamweight rankings for instance, then look at lightweight. How many guys at the top 15 at BW have strong wrestling? I count 9. Khabib fought one guy with strong wrestling, in 29 fights. Gaethje was also winning the fight on the damage to the legs and head shots but simply gave up. Stuffed the takedowns and then just... stopped resisting. Let Khabib take his back (which Gaethje planned, offering his back as he said on Embedded as if jiu jitsu doesn't exist) and didn't try to get up from the bottom. Let himself be walked down without jabbing or really doing anything to give Khabib pause, it was pathetic.
