Yeah I just realized if Chandler wins, he’ll be the only white, American-born, male champion in the UFC. That’s probably the UFC’s biggest audience and he’ll allow them to tap into that market even more. Plus he’s insanely marketable. Good-looking, well-spoken, crystal clean record outside the octagon (as long as USADA minds their own business lol). He’s like Covington without the controversy and borderline racism

Definitely rooting for Chandler, but you’re right Charles is no fucking joke, in my opinion he’s probably the most underrated lightweight. Man can knock you out and make you tap. Can’t wait to see it, on paper this is gonna be a great fight.

@@AznPanda369 chandler also does not have the self-refilling gas tank of gillespie, neither guy does. if he tries explosive fast scrambles he's getting subbed. most likely though, he'll catch chuck olives with either the thunder in his left hand or the lightning that is his right hand and if that happens, you're gonna see someone get flatlined

@SirOliver many young people today learn english because of the internet (youtube/social media), and may also get english in school, but obviously affluence is required to have unfettered internet access and a decent education. Have you seen the poverty in Brazil? It is legit. A lot of Brazilians don’t speak english well. Anderson Silva had to learn. Jose Aldo still doesn’t. Amanda Nunes had to learn. Its not that we can’t be a fan of a non-english speaker. I speak decent spanish. However as my second language, when I listen to a person speaking Spanish, I’m just trying to understand. My brain power is being used to make sense of the words, and nothing else. That same person speaks in broken english, and my brain somehow derives information about the fighter’s personality. Immediately I feel like I know them better, making me more invested in the outcome of the fight. It is important for sure. If Charlie wins.....he will start on some english lessons probably. Selling a fight as champion is too important.

@Jay Russ I am Brazilian and Oliveira is not much promoted here. The truth is that before the fight with Fergunson he was not known here. Oliveira has never promoted himself very well and it is a pity, because he is a very good fighter.

That's why Dana ranked Charles higher and made him the A side. Dana knows how to market a fight and Oliviera is the heel in a U.S.A. based organization facing an American. Sad that they created the UFC to show how Brazilian Jui Jitsu could beat any striker or wrestler but they never get any credit or the fan base because of the language barrier and how professional and how serious they take fighting. If do bronx learned how to talk shit like McGregor he would be the next big superstar in America. Tony is a bigger draw and he was dominated by Oliviera. He stole the show at the ufc 262 press conference with his charisma and is by far the peoples champ of the entire UFC. The boogeyman will return and will show us why he's the best and with a full camp at his new gym and reconnecting with Team Lesnar will only take Tony's game to the next level.

Man... I went back and re-watched all the fights from the streak Oliveira has going, and I think people are seriously underestimating just how good this guy has gotten. I was leaning towards Chandler before, but after watching that body of work altogether, it wouldn't surprise me if Charles Oliveira just destroys him.

The adversity for both fighters is amazing and I for one can't wait to see the outcome I'm definitely rooting for Charley Olives not because of his 8 fight winning streak but his skill set and patience he's only getting better I respect Michael iron Chandler because he has so much to prove and I didn't feel as if he deserved a shot but in all honesty he definitely brings in attention to the sport and has a great champion experience fighter experience and this is what the UFC needs to forget about Khabib and to go forward with the division everything played out as plan I look forward to Saturday nights event

@@AusSpurs Oliveira has a good track record against shorter fighters while does bad against fighters near or equal to his height. This is on average naturally, I know he did well against Tony

There was never a match-up where I thought hed lose. "Oh, who? Another striker? Yeah, lets skip on that card." then after he defended against 3 more strikers he dipped. Not his fault, but hes not worth GOAT status. I mean, GSP said Khabib walks around heavier than him because they trained together. HMMM wonder why he didn't go up to 170...

Man I'm excited Charles claiming a R1 ko and I don't doubt it, every time his submission was his choice 90% he could've finished the fight via tko or ko.. Because all of them getting rocked pretty damn hard. Then he choose to get a submission that's how he got the title for most submission finishes. "If u don't know now u know

No one talks about it, but I think almost every fighter taps if Olivera has them in the position Tony was. Maybe not the smartest move but still the heart from Tony in that moment. Like no other
