The way Ortega interacts with his kids is like it's a lot longer than 2-3 months in-between when he sees them. He was surprised to see one son good at soccer, and hype when he just discovered his own kids also like the same fast food restaurants as him. As a kid raised in a single parent house it was clear to me they barely know each other.

It also doesn't make it any easier when you travel for fights and maybe travel for training. They kids looked like they loved spending time with him and he looked like he was having fun as well. Nothing in that video showed me that he is a dead beat, granted I don't personally know him so maybe off camera.

They clearly are trying to work things out together which is more than most people that split. The dad always gets to spend less time with them unless they have full custody. The kids have lives too, they hang out with friends have sleep overs, school, hw, etc. I get there's people that don't like Ortega but saying he's a bad dad is plain silly especially when you don't know him.

I don't think you understand people like the Diaz brothers. They are an enigma, his train of thought and existence is completely different to that of most people. It's a very similar mindset people like Mike Tyson and Brock Lesnar have. It's not the glitz and glamor and media hype, they don't appeciate that stuff the way most people do. They don't see it as an essential part of the fight game and this is why they would rather avoid it. They aren't intentionally trying to be rude or think they are cool for it, quite the opposite actually.

It doesn’t have to be though. Someone like Nick hates the spotlight, because of the pressure and anxiety it puts on him. He’s a fighter and not everyone can handle the pressure of talking and being forced to talk to the media. You act as though Nick is doing this to be lazy.
