On one hand I thought this a bad return-fight for Nick. On the other hand I think fighting Robbie? Gets Nick back-up-to-speed that much more quickly. The better the competition - the quicker it all returns. Nick knew he had only half a fight in Nick - so it was such a game/courageous effort. Nick Diaz was my first hero ever in the ufc when I discovered this sport in 2009.. At the time I was a minority being a Diaz fan, this was the GSP era and people didn’t understand the Diaz brothers just yet. I also have a little brother myself and have literally been brought to tears when I watch nick and Nate talk about each other and the affection they have for each other. I truly believe Nick would have been regarded as a GOAT if he didn’t catch that BS suspension. In his prime he was fearless, took every fight, wanted the best, and was never finished. Every loss on his record was a decision loss. Which is crazy because him and Nate both choose to stand and bang, when in reality they both have the ability to finish any one on the ground. But they want to really fight, they want to put on a show and represent the sport as true fighters not just tap out artists. It pained me to see nick tonight. He wasn’t the same. He once said “I have to find a way to hate my opponent in order to get in the mind set to go to war”… and unfortunately that nick Diaz is long gone. He will always be a legend, and he’s done volumes for the sport and should be a hall of famer for his influence alone. But he’s no longer the gangster from 209 flipping off the crowd. He’s done his part and left his mark. And everyone knows it but him. His work is done. We love you Nick. Thank you for being the first real badass of the sport that wasn’t presenting or putting on an act to sell pay per views. You were just you. Before Conor or Masvidal. There was Nick Diaz. For all the old fans growing up watching him, it was just nice to see him come back. To the new fans, you witnessed a legend return. He didn't win but that doesn't matter. He's fought his whole life. He's got nothing to prove to anyone. He didn't have to come back either but he came back and put on a show for the fans. His heart and will is never in question, he doesn't need to sacrifice anymore of himself. He could've probably kept going but choosing to not take anymore damage was smart. It never seems like he's truly ok and it seems like he's always been burdened by the weight of everything around him his whole life. Hopefully he'll get to a better head space and good things happen for him. He deserves it.

He knew it qhich was worse as that was a money grab. He looked very out of shape for a diaz. Looks like he didnt want the fight, doesn't want to fight anymore his passion isnt in it anymore.. so honestly being a fan of the diaz Brothers i believe nick should not fight anymore theres nobody he can beat at the top level anymore not in his current mindset.. he needs to bring out that bad boy image again if hes gunna have a slight chance at every winning or fight old guys his age. Some truth to your statement but Nick vs Bj happened over a decade ago…not many fighters are the same “if any” from 28 to 38 years old. It was a bit peculiar to see Nick out of shape but he showed some vintage stuff including some good body work but it seems his lifestyle and Father Time has caught up Mad respect to both guys

Call me an idiot but imagine when Nick really has that inner peace, he would be an absolute animal. His calmness during a fight combined with seeing openings and hit them with precision shots is on a different level.
