*He HAS too, because:* 1. Colby was winning 3-1 going into the 5th, Usman KNOWS that the fans know he faked the nut-shot to get a breather, and because he knows that if he gives Colby more respect than people will in turn give him more respect; and if he wins then it will make it look like he beat a much better fighter. Whereas if he says Colby’s a bum, then if he won, he’s just beating “a bum” (in his own words).

Absolutely, because we all know Colby plays his character to a T & doesn’t let the mask drop hardly ever. When it comes to Usman, I guarantee he’s right about Colby respecting him. If they ever spoke privately, I’m betting Colby would tell him as much to his face.

But if there’s any fighter that can push Kamaru to the limit it’s Colby. And the great thing is that we get the best performances out of fighters when there pushed to the limit. A win for the fans

I have a weird stance on Colby because he is clearly just a talented fighter who was put in a shitty position at the height of his career and had to take a chance to get the UFC to hold onto him. Among hardcore fans, this fight is what people want to see the most out of the entire card as many believed Colby is going to get beat even more decisively this time around due to seeing clear improvements in striking in Usman yet not much in Covington. Difference between knocking Masvidal out cold and beating Burns in striking to beating Woodley with pressuring wrestling. Will give one thing to Colby though, during the Countdown he admits he has to move his head more whilst striking which is spot on.

@@LoveMachine-gk7dc I don't see how the UFC was going to release him considering he was on a good win streak with some nice finishes. It makes zero sense whatsoever, also Colby started using the pro-wrestling gimmick before the Maia fight. He turned heel not to save his job, but to gain clout. I don't blame him for it honestly since its made him the name he has today, he just needs to keep backing up the talk otherwise he'll fade into obscurity like his much hated predecessor Josh Koscheck.

@@rejachemno a lot of fighters are a bad match for Colby....Edwards,Burns,Luque, Chimaev...just to name a few. Usman is the only big dog in that division i don't see losing anytime soon.

Either won't hold the title much longer now that Chimaev showed up. They are as good as they are gonna get. He just started and is gonna get way better by title shot time. He's already 95 % there!!!

Those two statements have no correlation, and you don’t know if Colby is a good guy at all. It doesn’t matter what someone like Joe Rogan says. All his ex teammates speak poorly of the real Colby. They grinded with him multiple hours a day for years, and know him better than fans, and someone like Joe who says everyone is a good person after interacting with them for a few minutes at a time. Even Chael says everyone disliked Colby in college wrestling. Lmao. He’s likely just an exaggerated version of his true self.

Kamaru is showing a lot of respect for Colby to be honest. He KNOWS that Colby is the real deal when it comes to a contender. He could just be like everyone else and throw shade on Colby and kick the guy everyone hates but he actually stands up for the respect he believes in. That definitely means something.
