It's fascinating to see how, depending on a fighter's origins and cultural background, you see their own fighting philosophy influenced by their culture come through. One of the deeper, more meaningful things about the UFC for me.

I love seeing Li get so much love from everyone. It actually gives me a tremendous amount of faith in human beings in general. People recognize when someone is genuine. I would always prefer a genuine asshole to a fake nice guy. But Li feels like a genuine nice guy.

Leech is one of the fighters that can gain a decent following in the US without speaking any English. His personality speaks for himself, I can listen him talking in Chinese and reading subtitles all day!

Makes you question who the translator is and if they capture his tone correctly, and here I think they do since he has the wisdom of a warrior. But an episode or two ago Leech had a translator in person and his translation did not sync up with the word choice or tone Leech used, which in my opinion did not give credit to Leech's actual character in what was translated and what he said to Khamzat. Which sucks of course because Leech assumes his tone is getting across when it might actually be doing a small disservice to him.

you also see this post UFC post-match octagon interviews when the translators translate to english, it is almost never as charismatic, wise, and powerful as when the fighter speaks his mother tongue. Would be great if we could get this recognized to do fighters and fans a greater service.

In the earlier days, embedded would be 6 episodes of prep. Now it's 4 eps of prep, and 2 to show the bullshit media stuff like weigh ins and press conferences. IMO embedded should be strictly fight camp prep. No media engagements, it's a waste of two episodes

It's crazy how much a little camera time can change my perspective on a fighter. Li is coming off super likable here. But hard to root against Tony. Always be a fan.

I think Li is gonna take him down and grind his ass over 3 rounds and get a decision victory. I feel like he dominates on the ground and Tony can’t do much about it kind of like his olivera fight where Charles was going submission after submission on Tony and he couldn’t do anything except refuse to tap. Sad but Li is underrated and the khamzat fight didn’t do him justice. Li reminds me of song yadong drastically has improved within last 1.5 years into a legit top 10 in their division. Song yadong is gonna prove a lot of people wrong starting w his sandhagen fight and I think Li is gonna torch Tony and get a top 10 fight after this even tho khamzat mauled him I think his nerves got him the best of him I see him coming out strong after his sahkilov fight also. Multiple fights on the big stage losing and winning I think this will be best we ever seen Li

Known about Leech for a long time but never really saw any interviews or looked into the guy. The little I’ve seen during this embedded have made me a fan tho, he seems like a very cool dude.

It’s crazy how many people sleep on Li. I’ve been following him since he came into the UFC and knew from the jump he’s gonna be known. Not because of his record but him as a fighter alone. Lovable/humble guy. He’s really the big part of the Chinese market it’s just Weill became champ and it subsided alil
