What is scary is the tactics they are using to recoup the money they spent on the UFC. They recently raised the price again of their PPV, and now they have raised the ticket prices again. The cheapest ticket is $325 and the highest is $9000. For years the UFC tried to make fun of the prices for boxing PPV events and ticket prices, and now the UFC is more expensive. So Jones debuting at Heavyweight is the most expensive event ever for fans, and what makes it scary is that his debut has zero to do with it, it is now their standard price. I remember when they left FOX and they raised the PPV price from $60 to $65, and people went crazy, and they said to relax it was just a $5 raise, but now it is $80 per PPV. The prices are now comical, and the bad part is now that they know they can get people to pay the prices, the price will never go back down. Would not surprise me if in 5 years or so the price will be $100 per PPV. Seems like the UFC did not pay attention to the congressional hearings recently about raising ticket prices and event prices that are a ripoff.
