The majority of UFC fights don't happen in the fighters home city and fans still support who they like. Even extreme stuff like McGregor being in Vegas are crowd going nuts for an Irish guy. Charles is a former champion with a hell of a story that people connect with. So the support makes a ton of sense. If you added up fans of popular fighters worldwide, I bet many fighters would have moved collectively fans from outside of their country and just a more dense group of support I'm their home.

The timing of it works because if Benny wins he will guarantee he’s the next title contender in October for islam in Abu Dhabi and Dustin and Justin fighting will determine who gets the next shot after Benny. The only way to other will cut even with their name value is if Benny gets hurt or can’t fight in October because of like a health suspension because the ufc wants islam in that Abu Dhabi card obviously
